ACU MATHEMATICS CONFERENCE - INFORMATION for PARTICIPANTS

Dear Participant,

Thank you for registering to attend our 9th Annual Primary Teachers Mathematics Conference on
Saturday 28th May 2016 at ACU, Melbourne. We are looking forward to a wonderful day.

Please take the time to read the following information which will help your day run as smoothly as
possible.

Conference Location (please refer to the attached map for details)

On arrival at ACU, please proceed to the main foyer on the ground floor at 115 Victoria Parade for
registration. The keynote sessions will be held in the Philippa Brazill Lecture Theatre and all the
workshop sessions will occur in the modular buildings on the corner of Victoria Parade and
Brunswick Street. Please look out for our conference staff in the yellow vests who will be giving
directions to rooms. Also look out for the Green Signs pointing you in the right direction.

Public Transport (strongly recommended)

ACU is easily accessed by public transport by taking the train to Parliament station then walking
10 minutes to the University or taking Tram 24, 31 or 109 from the Macarthur Street exit.
The following buses stop right out the front of the university: 302, 303, 305, 309, 313, 315, 318,
340, 905, 906, 907, 908.
Parking
The ACU Car Park at the rear of the main building will be available for parking for $11 per day.
However please note that this car park has limited spaces and only has ONE ticket payment
machine, so there will be a lengthy delay when leaving at the end of the day.
Please visit the Wilson Parking site at www.wilsonparking.com.au for other parking options (90
Victoria Parade, Eades Street & Eye and Ear Hospital).

Session Allocations
At registration you will be given your conference pack which will have your allocated sessions
printed on the front. Everyone has been allocated either their first or second preference unless
otherwise advised. Room numbers for your allocated sessions will also be displayed on your
packs. IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT YOU ONLY GO TO THE SESSIONS ALLOCATED ON YOUR PACK.

Book Sales
We will be selling books on the day at heavily discounted prices in the Main Foyer. Please note
that we only accept CASH for these sales (there are no EFT or Credit Card facilities). We will be
selling the following books at lunch and afternoon tea only:
Mathematics Assessment for Learning (the red book) ($25)
Engaging Maths: 25 Favourite Lessons (the blue book) ($40)
A variety of books by Paul Swan ($20 each or 3 for $50)

Prize Draw
After the final session of the day, we will gather in Philippa Brazill Lecture Theatre for the Prize
Draw. Participants name tags are collected and randomly drawn with winners choosing from an
array of wonderful prizes donated by our Educational Display Companies.
Certificates
A certificate of attendance will be available for your collection at the completion of the Prize
Draws.

Attendance
If you are unable to attend on the day, please allocate another teacher from your school to attend
as fees are non-refundable. If you are swapping with someone else, please advise Louise Hamilton
ASAP so certificates and packs can be organised in the new attendees name.
