Guidance Overview

The SJHS Guidance Department

provides all students the services
that aid them in their personal,
social and academic development.
The SJHS Guidance counselors
coordinate with administrators,
school personnel, teachers and the
community to benefit the students of
the school. Some services that can be
offered to the students are as
follows: individual counseling,
academic advising, college
information/applications, transcript
information, etc. Students and
parents can meet with their assigned
counselor by contacting them by
phone, e-mail or signing in with the
guidance receptionist.

Students will be given the opportunity to

conference with teachers and guidance counselors
to select their courses for each school year and to
review the course selection with parents.
Therefore, no schedule changes will be made after
the student schedules have been completed,
except for the following:
1- credit is needed for graduation
2- scheduling errors are made
3- credit has been earned during summer
school
4- a student has not passed the prerequisite
for the next course
**No changes will be made after the 5th day of the
semester without principals approval.
