TheNoneoftheAboveClubatWesternWashingtonUniversityisapoliticalclubwhosecentral
missionistoeducatepeopleaboutpoliticsthroughintellectualdiscussionandthoroughresearch.
ThisAssociatedStudentclubseekstoeliminatethedefaultoptionandeducatepeopleabout
politicsinanunbiasedmannerandprovideasafehavenforthosewhofeeltheydonotbelongto
acertainpoliticalparty.KatrinaHaffner,asenioratWestern,startedtheclubin2013duringher
sophomoreyeartoprovideanalternativeavenueforstudentstolearnaboutpolitics.Thereare
currentlyfivemembersintheNACandtheymeetbiweeklyinWilsonLibrary.

Current Activities

Withfivemembers,oneofPresidentKatrinaHaffnersgoalsfortheupcomingmonthsisto
expandtheirstudentoutreachintimeforthisyearselection.Shealsohopestobringawareness
tothirdpartycandidates,aswellasindependents,toeducatestudentsaboutotheroptionsoutside
ofthebipartisanship.Theyhaveyettoholdanymajoreventsorcampaigns,buttheclubdidhold
aviewingpartyforoneoftherecentpresidentialdebateslastOctober.OnApril19,NAChelda
meetingtodiscussthepoliticalandsocialthemesdiscussedintheAvatar:TheLastAirbender
andTheLegendofKorra.OnMay24,theNACwillhosttheHowwouldyouvoteina
Trump/Clintonelection?Theclubsstudentoutreachislimited.NAChasaFacebookgroupfor
studentstolearnabouttheirupcomingevents.

AnthropologyandTheater.HaffnerstartedthisclubafterbecomingPresidentofthestudentsfor
sustainabledrugpolicyatWWUinthebeginningofhersophomoreyearofcollege.Hergoals
fortheclubthisyearistobringmoreawarenesstothirdpartycandidatesintheupcoming
presidentialelections,toexpandthenumberofgroupmembersandhopefullyfindsomeonewho
willwanttotakeoverherpresidencyinthefall,whenshegraduates.
