Report on Other Choirs

I liked the Gustavus Choir a lot. They sang the song Witness and it sounded very
pleasant. They had great vovels and all of the choir members had the same vovels and
pronunciation. They also were always on pitch and had great air quality so whenever they went
high or low it was still on pitch due to their large space. Finally, I really liked the crescendos and
decrescendos of this choir. Whenever they did them, it was very gradual and smooth so it
sounded great. I think that although this choir was really good, there were a few things they
could have improved on. Their ending was a little off because they all didnt end at the same
time. I heard a couple of the members end a little later than everybody else. Other than that,
Gustavus Choir did a great performance because they had the right techniques in hand when
singing.
A choir that I thought did an okay job was the University High School Choir. They sang
the song Shosholoza. This choir was incredibly enthusiastic and delivered a great and
entertaining performance. Also, their solo in the song was really nice because the soloist had a
big and open voice when singing. Finally, everyone in the choir was matching. Although this
doesnt have to do with the sound itself, this aspect of the performance brought a sense of unity
and preparedness. This choir did have some things that they can improve on. They did not have a
unified sound because everyone was so enthusiastic that they all were singing like soloists. Also
the movements in the dance, although very nice, were too much. They empowered the singing

and made it hard to listen to the performance. Finally, their movements were just a little off,
which made the performance a little distracting. Overall, they were good though because they
were into their music, which gave a great spirit to the singing.
