Classroom management policies

Student Expectations:
Cooperate and respect others
Listen attentively

Ask for help when you need it
Classroom Rules:
1.

Be in your assigned seat when the bell rings and remain there quietly until the end of the class.

2. Bring your textbook and supplies to class (see the details at the end of this document).
3. No eating, drinking, chewing gum, or grooming.
4. No electronic items, includes but not limits to cell phones, iPods, portable game systems, and the like
must be turned OFF and put AWAY.
5. Raise your hand and wait for permission to speak or to leave your seat.
6. Respect others: Listen to the teacher or student without interruption, avoid cursing/teasing and
using improper words and language, and respect others property.
Positive consequences of following the rules:
1. Earn the respect of teachers and peers.
2. Learn math.
3. Much better chance to get a good academic and citizenship grade.
4. Positive phone calls or notes to home.
Negative consequences of not following the rules:
1st: Get a verbal warning.
2nd: Have name written on the board and start ABI record.
3rd: Get a phone call to home and continue ABI record.
4th: Get a class suspension and schedule a parent-teacher-student conference.
5th: Get a referral to AP office.
Procedures:
1. Look at the agenda on the board.
2. Put your completed work on the upper-left corner of your desk.
3. Start the warm up immediately.
4. Follow the teachers instructions.
5. Take notes while the teacher is teaching; do your own work when it is independent work time;
participate and cooperate when it is group work time.
6. Stay in your assigned seat during class time; raise your hand if you want to speak or leave your seat.
7. Each student gets three restroom passes for each semester. You can earn extra points at the end of
the semester if they are not used. A restroom pass will only be issued in an emergency but will not be
issued during the first 15 or last 15 minutes of class. Only one person at a time will be allowed out of
the room.
8. I will let you know when it is time to put away your notebook and supplies. Please remember that the

bell does not dismiss you - I dismiss you, but before that happens, the classroom must be clean and
orderly.
Please bring the following supplies to class daily (See Classroom Rules No. 2):
1.

Textbook

2. Binder and line papers


3. Pencils, pencil sharpener, and erasers
4. Red and blue pens or pencils
5. A scientific Calculator
6. Assignment and other work due on that day
