Why do we tell stories?

What did we learn about Indigenous culture in the Wadu matyidi video clip
What usually tells a story?
How do stories relate to the preservation of culture?

Link to Culture and Language topic/ Language theme

This resource will teach students about the connection between language and culture.
Language and culture are largely connected to each other because language determines the
ways in which people view the world, and culture is a reflection of the language that people use
(Elmes, 2014). Peoples view of the world are both strongly influenced by both culture and
language and contributes to ways in which they think. This relates to language education
because it is important that students develop an understanding of both culture and language to
achieve competency in any language study (Elmes, 2014).
