Have the students use sticky notes and write traits of the military and put it on the white board. (What are
some traits of the military?)
Discuss the different traits.
Read aloud letter from the Goldilocks book as an example.
What are the parts you noticed about the letter?
Read about the different parts in a letter and have students write down notes for themselves on a piece of
paper or sticky note.
Have the students work on their individual letters if time permits.
