INTEGRAL 3 DUO ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS Bosch Telecom EXCHANGE LINE REQUIREMENTS FOR INTEGRAL 3 DUO SYSTEMS The DUO system can support up to 4 analogue lines and 4 ISDN2 lines. When these lines are ordered from the network supplier or connected from an existing system they must be configured correctly in order for all the features of the Duo to work. Analogue lines. Loop calling unguarded clear with DTMF signalling. (Tone dialling). Pulse signalling lines can be used if required. Earth calling lines cannot be connected. Digital Jines. (ISDN2). ISDN2 or ISDN2e with: DDL or Non DDI i.e, 1 number on both channels. or MSN with a number range or separate numbers. Up to 10 digits can be accepted from the network using the MSN translation tables. For DDI and MSN to work correctly the numbering plan must be requested from the network supplier as "Unknown". This is the ISDN call set-up message that sends the DDI/MSN number to the Duo system. If the numbering plan is not set to "Unknown" then all DD/MSN numbers will only ring the attendant station for the line connected. Optional Services. CLIP. Calling Line Identification Presentation. (ISDN only). ‘The Duo features VPN, Virtual Private Networking and Call list external, will not work without CLIP. CSA. Called Subscriber Answer. (Analogue lines only). Product code A37663 CSA is a line reversal on answer for analogue lines only, and enables the Duo to recognise that the called party has answered. Without this feature the Duo cannot accurately cost analogue line calls. Introduction The PS 13 MasterPhona is a product including a telephone, a connecting cable with an adapter, and the PC "MasterPhone" software. This product provides you with a Bosch ‘Telecom system telephone that offers basic functions without PC support such as outgoing and incoming calls. in conjunction with the WINDOWS operating system, the system telephone evolves to a high-convenience PC telephone which you can configure to suit your own porsonal needs and taste. ‘The PS 13 telephone was developed to be connected to the Integral 3 telecommunications system, The user interface of the MasterPhone program adheres to the design philosophy of MS WINDOWS, so that you will soon be familiar with using the program. This program was developed as an application for the WINDOWS operating system. Please make sure thal your PC fulfils the requirements necessary for optimal use of the program. Requirements your PC needs to meet: - Processor: 80386DX and above - Memory: at least 4 MB RAM - Hard disic: at least 5 MB free spaco - Operating system: MS-DOS Version 3.9 or above MS Windows: Version 3.1 in enhanced mode or above - - fe serial interface (COM1 to COM) - Video: at least VGA 640°480 = Mouse If you are using WINDOWS for Workgroups 3.11, you need to update the device driver for the serial interface. The driver is included in the purchase. You will ind two “readme” files in the directory WG1001 that oxplain precisely how the installation Is to be done. (WG1001.DOC is a formatted fil that can be read with a word processing program such as WORD. WG1001.TXT is an unformatted file.) ‘The subdirectory DISK contains the updated driver SERIAL 386. Start by reading the description of the installation procedure in one of the two ~ and then act accordingly readme” files 2. Scope of Purchase 3.2, Installing the Software ‘Your purchase includes two diskettes that contain an installation program and the MasterPhone program along with all the associated files. Make a backup copy of the diskettes frst. To install the program, insert the diskette 1/2 into drive A or B and activate tho File menu's Flun command of the WINDOWS Program Manager. Enter the command ANSETUP in the Commend Line text box of the dialog Box or enter B\SETUP. The language for running the installation is chosen next. Then the path is specified where the sofware is to be installed. The path name CAMP_13 is offered to you. You can accept it with or you can change it i you like. The installation of the software will now commence. ‘The installation wil be interrupted, ‘The installation will be aboried During the installation you can define the COM interface you want the MasterPhone to use. Choose a free COM iftertace in the corresponding window. In case you cancel this configuration without selecting an interface, the installation of the program will be continued and interface CON will be selected automatically. The configuration of the interface is Possible at any time in the program. PS 13 Telephone Star and Hash for special functions 8 Function keys Handsfree mode activates the loudspeaker and the microphone to fet you leave the handset on-hook while using the telephone, Monitor switches the loudspeaker orvoft, and makes it possible to dial with the handset on-hook, Redial dials the previous extemal call number again. Refer-back for consultation with other subscribers of your telecommunications system or externally, Callback - You called a busy subscriber and hung up. Your telephone rings when the dialed number is free again. When idle, the display of your telephone contains a window showing the date and time. Otherwise the cisplay contains one or more windows depending on the call status and the action you just carried Out. You can specify the size of your display yourselt. The bigger the display, the easier it can be surveyed, of course. Furthermore, you can arrange the windows of the display any way you like. The position of the window will always be optimized automatically with respect to the size of the display. To move a window within the display, click and drag the window with the right mouse button. Use the left mouse button to cirectly activate the menu items in the display. 5.3. Structure of the Partners & Lines Display “The window used to show partners combines both display and kayboard in order to furnish Pariners and Lines functions. ‘You can freely arrange up to 16 function keys in accordance with the size and geometry of the space at your disposal, The Settings menu includes the Partners & Lines command that allows you to choose displays with one to four lines or with one to two columns. Assigning keys for pariners and lines depends on the configuration of your {elecommunications system. Use the programming mode of the telephone to enter the appropriate code digits. The initial settings at delivery can be changed by service personnel, ‘The Integral 3 telecommmunications system is responsible for displaying the status of partner and line keys such as “incoming call” or “busy” 5.4. Using the Local Directory Installing the" MasterPhone” program creates a Local Directory on your PC. This Local Directory allows you to store up 10 500 entries with the fields Name, Attribute, and Call Number. Once you activate the Local Directory you have an easy way to dial numbers or to edit entries. You can add new entries, delete or modify given entries, and store the Local Directory with all your current changes on your hard disk. s 5.6, Dialing from standard programs (Clip Dialer) ‘This feature allows you to easily dial straight out of another application. The WINDOWS Clipboard is used to activate dialing, ‘The only prerequisite for an application to use this feature is support of the WINDOWS. Clipboard, Use the Settings menu or the toolbar to activate or deactivate the Clip Dialer. If you plan to enter telephone numbers in documents or soreadsheets or in other applications ‘and may want to call someone with such a number, all you have to do is activate the Clip Dialer prior to starting your application program, AAs soon as you mark the telephone number you entered and copy it to the Clipboard, a ‘window opens for you to confirm dialing the number. All the sequences of digits within the biock marked in the application program are transferred to the Clip Dialer. This allows you to combine sevoral sequences of digits to create one call number prior to dialing. ‘You can open an existing keyboard with the Open command. Shortcuts a Keys: CTRL+N Open Use this command to open an existing keyboard. ‘The Naw command creates a new keyboard. Shorteuts Keys: CTRL¥O ‘The File Open dialog box offers you several options for choosing @ keyboard. File Open dialog box: File Name Type the name of the keyboard you want to open, or choose a file in the list. This box shows files with the file extension chosen in the box “Type of File” ' ‘Type of File Enter the type of file you want to see in the box “File Name". The default filename extension is *.Kbd (keyboard). Drives ‘Choose the drive with the keyboard thal you want to open. Directories Choose the directory with the keyboard that you want to open. Save ‘Saves an opened keyboard using the same file name. Use this command to save the active keyboard to its current name and directory. When you save a keyboard for the first time, the File Save As dialog box is brought up to let you name the keyboard. if you want to change the name and directory of an existing keyboard betore you save ii, choose the Save As command in the Keyboard menu Shorteuts : OTRL+S. Redo cut Copy Paste Use this command to repeat the last action that was reversed with “Undo, If “Redo” is not possible the command cannot be activated. Shorteuts Keys: OTRL#A, Use this command to remove selected keys from the keyboard and Keep them in the program's internal clipboard. This command is unavailable if there are no keys currently selected, Storing keys in the program's internal clipboard replaces the contents previously stored there. Shortcuts Keys: CTRLIX Use this command to copy selected keys into the program's intemal clipboard. This command is unavailable if there are no keys currently selected. Copying keys to the program's internal clipboard replaces the contents previously stored there. Shorteuts Keys: CTRL1C* a Use this command while editing the keyboard to insert a copy of the program's internal clipboard contents. The copy will bo inserted in the upper lefl-nand comer of the window. From there you can mova it to the desired position. This command is Unavailable if the program's internal clipboard is empty. Shortcuts @ Keys: CTRLEV Window. You can choose a foreground and a background for the display; this is equivalent to color selection for the active window and for the inactive window within the display, Choice of color influences the way function keys are labeled in the Partners & Lines Window. Choose Color dialog box: This dialog box offers you a selection ot basic colors. You can expand the palette of colors by dofining colors of your own. Use the “Define Gustom Colors” button to expand the dialog box. Starting with a basic color you can vary hue, saturation, and luminosity to create @ color that suites your taste, The "Add Color” button allows you to add your new color to the color palette, Please note that colors may difer somewhat since the program only uses the basic colors and does not use dithered (mixed) colors. Tool Window Allows you to choose the way to present the Tool Window. It ean be displayed using ‘one row or using one, two or four columns. indicates the current display option. The Tool Window offers you keys of various shapes and sizes to base your keyboard on. italso includes all the functions you need to create or ecit a keyboard. The function can be represented with a piotogram or with text on the key. DSS Module Choose how the keys of the DSS Module are to be arranged. Choose the arrangement that looks best to you, You can choose between presenting the DSS Module with 12 or 18 columns, Furthermore it can be presented with 12 or 18 rows, indicates the curront display option, Number of DSS Keys Choose the number of keys for your DSS Module. Itis possible to specify 36, 72, or 108 keys. a indicates the current disptay option. DSS Display (LED) Allows you to choose the size of the optical display. ‘The following settings are possible: Large “LED key is used, Listen to the sounds. The function of the key changes to Heting] Now this function is presented. Please note: In order to use sounds a sound device has to be installed. (The scope of purchase of the PS 13 MasterPhone does not include a sound device.) Interfaces ‘This command brings up a dialog box for you to enter the free COM interface for communication between your PC and the telephone as well as with the Integral 3 telecommunications system, Background ‘Choose the background for your program's window or retain the standard background, ‘The following settings are possible: off: This activates the standard background. Bit Map: This command brings up a dialog box that allows you to choose a bit map for the background of your application window. indicates the current setting. Internal Dialing Use this command to specify functions 1 to 6 that are prefixed to every internal number ‘you dial. A dialog box enables defining the functions that precede dialing an internal call umber. Up to six functions can be defined here. As soon as you click one of these six functions, the List of Functions of the Integral 3 telecommunications system is presented to you to choose trom. Help ‘The Help menu offers the following commands: Contents Provides general information about the PS 13 MasterPhone product along with explanations about menus and an overviow of the features the MasterPhone has 0 offer. ‘Onoe you open Help, you can click the Contents button whenever you want to return to the opening screen. Using Help Provides general instructions on using help. Info Use this command to display the copyright notice and version number of the MasterPhone. Shorteuts 7. information on dealing with Save the given entry and close editing entries of tho Local Directory. 7.2. Clip Dialer Use the Settings menu to activate the Clip Dialer. As soon as you mark a telephone number you enterad in your application program and copy ito the Clipboard, the Giip Dialer willbe opened, ‘All the sequences of digits within the block marked in the application program are transfered to the Clip Dialer. This allows you to combine several sequences of digits to create one call number prior to dialing, Double-click the left mouse button to transfer call numbers you copied from your application program into the call number line. Use the numeric keys to supplement or change the call number. To initiate dialing you can choose between activating ‘The Settings menu allows defining prefixes for both internal calls and external calls that will be prefixed to the call number listed in the call number line. ‘While the connection is being set up, an info window is displayed briefly showing the call number. Call numbers copied from other application programs will be deleted. 7.3. Tool Window MasterPhone furnishes you with a Tool Window to create a keyboard. Use the Too! Window command of the Settings menu to specify how this window will be presented. ‘Meaning of the toolbar buttons: ie Mark: Use this function to mark and move selected keys within the keyboard. The marked section can also be cut or copied to the program's intemal clipboard and subsequently used within the same keyboard or another keyboard, Eraser: Activate this function and click a key you want to delete with the mouse. Label: Activate this function and then choose a key to which you want to assign ‘You also need this list while creating a keyboard. Once you have specified the size and design of a key you can assign a function to the key out of the list. 7.5. Printing PS 13 Labeling Strips or PC Keyboard Templates ‘You can print a Labeling Strip for your PS 13. Activate the menu item Print Labeling Strins (In the Extras menu). To print a Keyboard Template, choose the menu item Assign PC Function Koys in the Extras menu. Use to start printing. Print dialog box Use this dialog box to specify print range and print quality. Printer Use this command to display the active printer or printer port. Choose Setup to switch to another printer or printer port. Setup This displays the Printer Setup dialog box. Here you can choose a printer of a printer port. Print Range (cannot be selected) Choose how much you want to print: All Tho whole document will be printed. Selection The selected toxt will be printed. Pages The fields “From” and "To" specify the number of pages to be printed. Copies Choose how many copies are to be printed of the print range you specified. Collate Copies (not activated) The pages of each copy arg printed in page sequence instead of printing all the copies of a page at once. Print Quality Choose the print quatity (Reducing print quality usually reduces the time necossary for printing.) Printer Setup dialog box Printer Choose the printer you want to use. You can choose between a standard printer and a specific printer. To choose a specific printer, a list of all the currently installed printers is presented, Format It is sensible to choose “Landscape” orientation for this application. Paper Size Meaning of the toolbar buttons a Create a new keyboard, The currently active keyboatd is closed since only one keyboard can be active ata time. ‘Open an existing keyboard. A dialog box Is displayed in which you can choose the dasired keyboard. A proviously active keyboard will be closed. Save the active keyboard with its current name. If you have not named the keyboard, the “File Save As” dialog box is displayed. Activate the Edit mode of the keyboard. This mode allows you to create or modify your keyboard, Undo the last change, Redo the last undone change. Remove selected keys from the keyboard and store them on the program's internal clipboard, Copy selected keys to the program's intemal clipboard, Paste the contents of the program’s internal clipboard in the keyboard with the ‘option of moving it to the desired position Display the version and the copyright of the program (MasterPhone). 8.3, Status Bar ‘Tho status bar is displayed at the bottom of your MasterPhone window. Use the Settings menu to display or hide the status bar. ‘The left area of the status bar describes the action of the menu item you choose. This area similarly shows a message that describes the action of the toolbar button you choose. The status bar has a special meaning in conjunction with the keyboard, See Tips & Tricks (9.3. Special meaning of the Status Bar (in conjunction with the Keyboard and the DSS Module)). ‘The right area of the status bar indicates which of the following Keys are latched down and provides the status information on the Local Diractory: Indicator Description ‘CAP ‘The Caps Look key is latched down. uM The Num Lock key is latched down, SCRL The Scroll Lock key is latched down. Local Directory x/y data records in use; y = all data records 8.4, Caption ‘The caption is the uppermost line of the application window. To move the window, drag the caption. ‘You can also move dialog boxes to a different position on the screen in the same way. In some situations, using PC keys is, faster than activating buttons with the mouse.
