Date: 23-04-2015 INVITATION FOR ATTENDING 13" CONVOCATION This is to inform all the Degree Recipients that the 13" Convocation of the Institute is to be held on 16" May, 2015 at 11.00AM in the NIT New Auditorium building (Sports Complex). It is a pleasure for me to invite you to attend the Convocation and receive the Degree in person, The Institute also has the pleasure of inviting your parents to join us on this pleasant occasion. Please note the following guide lines for the smooth conduct of the Convocation 1. The Degree recipients (B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Se., MBA and Ph.D) will have to register their names within 6" May 2015 with the respective hostel supervisor of the Hostels. For non-hosteller, the registration will be done with the Assistant Hostel manager office inside the Hostel-8. Participation by latecomers is forbidden to ensure that degree certificate are stacked in advance in the right sequence and that there is no mix up during the Convocation. At the time of registration, degree recipients will deposit an amount of Rs. 500.00 (Rupees five hundred only) in eash as caution money against the Convocation gown. Student who will not return the gown, the said caution money will be forfeited. In case, a student does not attend the convocation in person, he/ she will receive the degree certificate by post after the Convocation, On the day of registration, student receives the coupon for Pre-Convocation dinner and coupon for collecting Convocation gown. The coupon has to be produced at the respective venue(which will be notified later on), There will be a rehearsal for the Convocation process at 11.00AM and 4.00PM on 14" May 2015 at the Convocation site. Since the Convocation is a somber event, it is imperative that the event moves smoothly. Only a complete rehearsal shall ensure compliance by all concerned. Hence, it has been decided not to permit a student to participate in the Convocation if he/ she misses the rehearsal. Students, who do not take part in the rehearsal, shall not be given the robe and even after payment of-Rs. 500.00 as registration fees. In that case Rs. 500.00 will be returned, No Graduating Students will be allowed to enter the convocation venue without robe. All the graduating students including guests and parents must take their seat by 10.30 AM. (Last entry to the convocation hall is 10.45A.M. and after that no one shall be permitted) Page 1/29. For security reason movement is restricted inside the hall. After entering the academic procession in the hall, no one will be allowed to move. This restrfction is for press people also.
