Introduction
DIR 803 Router is deployed with Etisalat e-Life HSI service. This router (Firmware
Version Eth_1.00 & Eth_1.01) is certified for use with HSI Plug & Play Services.
Hence the router is connected to a trunk port on GPON ONT.
Trunk port on GPON ONT includes an untagged Mgmt. VLAN and a tagged HSI
Service VLAN.

Internet Account Configuration

a. Connect an Ethernet Cable into the HSI Trunk Port on the ONT, Plug the other
end of the Ethernet cable into the WAN Port of the Router.
b. Power ON the router & connect a laptop to the LAN Port of the router using
another Ethernet cable.
c. Verify the dynamic IP address & default gateway address on the laptop.
d. Using an internet browser, browse the default gateway address of the laptop
to access the GUI of the router. If authentication is prompted; use admin as
Username & Password
e. From the router GUI, Click on TCP/IP Settings and select WAN Interface.
f. Choose WAN Access Type as PPPoE and enter the HSI Username & Password
provided by Etisalat
g. Verify VLAN ID in the PnP Sub Request, enter the same VLAN ID and click the
Apply changes to save the configuration.

i. Wait for 20 Seconds to Apply the chances successfully on the router.

Please do not turn off OR reboot the device during this time.

Wireless SSID / (Wi-Fi) Configuration

D-LINK DIR 803 is a dual band Concurrent Wi-Fi ac router. Hence the router can
operate in two different bands namely 2.4GHz & 5GHz simultaneously.
3.1

Wireless LAN Setup for 5 GHz Band

a. Click on the Wireless folder Icon, navigate to Wlan1 (5GHz) and select
Security.
b. From the Security Settings, Set the encryption as WEP and an Encryption key
consisting of 10 digits.
c. Apply changes to save the configuration.

3.2

Wireless LAN Setup for 2.4 GHz Band

a. Click on the Wireless folder Icon, navigate to Wlan2 (2.4GHz) and select
Security.
b. From the Security Settings, Set the encryption as WEP and an Encryption key
consisting of 10 digits.
c. Apply changes to save the configuration.

Configuring Admin Account on the Router

Click on Management and proceed to Password Menu on the Router

a. Type username as admin
b. New Password as per Customer Choice and confirm the new password again
c. Apply the Changes on the Router

Status of HSI Service on the Router

Click on Management and select Status to verify Service Status as per the screenshot
below:
