Role of IT in LIC
In LIC we are using IT in various ways. We are
no.2 in the country after railways in the use of PCs.
We provide many valuable services to our
esteemed external/internal customers in the form
of various modules for different department like:
CASH ,NB , ACCOUNTS , SALES ,OS ,PS ,EDMS
,CLAIMES etc.

IT Infrastructure
At BO level
We are having various PCs on the basis of staff
strength in the Branch and one EDMS server
which are interconnected through LAN.
These PCs are further connected to Divisional
Office MDC (Mini Data Centre) through leased line
taken from MTNL/BSNL.
We are able to collect and update premium across
the country for any policy including ULIP policies.

uninterrupted services to Branches and
Divisional users.
The main services are provided by Divisional IT
Department : eFEAP, ULIP,EDMS ,MICRO,
HEALTH ,WEB , SDMMIS and valuation

We are having centralized MDC (Mini Data
Centre) and many other servers for different
activities , Which remain 24X7 ON to provide
uninterrupted services to Branches ,Divisional
and Zonal users.
The main services are provided from Zonal IT
Department : eFEAP, WEB , ZMMIS ,MAIL , CAV
and valuation

IT Infrastructure
At ZO level
CAV (Corporate Anti Virus) : Very important
server to detect and remove viruses. This server
is connected to 3 servers at DO level and clean
the viruses of all Divisional and Branch
WINDOW PCs , whenever a new virus threat
emerges , CAV server release a new update and
clean the effected PC.
