Dear Campus Recruitment Team,

I am an undergraduate student in my second year at Cass Business School studying

Banking and International Finance. I am writing in order to express my interest for the
Spring Insight Program in the Investment Banking Division.
Credit Suisse attracts me as a great employer, not only because of its prominent position in
the investment banking industry but also because of the positive engagement I have had
with its employees. Last month I attended Bright London Festival where I spoke with Drew
Marsh and Grace Acquah representing the firm. During the conversation I learnt about the
firm's focus on creativity and how junior members are treasured and valued which is vital
for my development. More so, with around 18,000 volunteer employees and 300
philanthropic organizations worldwide Credit Suisses avid engagement with the community
is another reason I want to associate myself with the firm.
In spring this year I interned at Barclays and had a thorough insight into their investment
banking division. Going through M&A case studies, valuation group sessions and employee
presentations, I greatly enhanced my analytical skills and developed an eye for detail. By
having a change of plan and going for a study abroad year, next year, I still want to pursue
a career in investment banking industry and I believe a spring insight with Credit Suisse
would be an ideal way forward for my career.
At Barclays I briefly work shadowed in Debt Capital Markets UK Desk where I enhanced my
knowledge about European Debt Markets. More so as a finance student I closely followed
how increased investor confidence led to low cost of borrowing for peripheral economies in
Europe, thus not only making the sovereign debt market more liquid but also leading to a
surge in corporate debt syndication in Europe. Credit Suisse, being at the forefront in
underwriting debt has captured this market by working on deals worth over $85bn.
The rotational nature of Spring Insight Program at Credit Suisse will provide me ideal firsthand experience of different areas within Investment Banking including different industrial
groups in M&A and global capital markets. Most importantly, I look forward to network with
senior employees at the firm and understand their opinion on key banking and economic
developments.
The highly dynamic and challenging work within Investment Banking caters to my skill set
whilst allowing practical results to be achieved. As a business development team leader my
coordination with six other members in AIESEC has enhanced my team working skills. My
active participation in cricket has taught me how to remain cool in high pressure batting
situations and stay committed to playing at the crease for long hours. These previous
experiences among others have shaped me into a strong team player and a social person,
and has prepared me well for an insight program in Credit Suisse.
As a spring intern at Credit Suisse I will broaden my perspective and develop an in-depth
conception of the industry. It will also be a chance to explore longer term opportunities.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Kind Regards,
Sameer Alam.
