2. Research emerging practices or trends that may impact on Bounce Fitness staff.
Emerging practices or trends are things like changes in the way people buy or
the community expectations, economic trends, labour market trends, new
products or services that may be introduced, new technologies, political or
legislative changes and/or qualification changes that may be required of your
staff. Discuss your findings.
There are two significant marketing trends in the last five years in Australia.
Increased usage of fitness facilities on behalf of individuals. Exercising and
working out has become a more mainstream activity in Australian lives over the
last decades.
The incorporation of neither fitness memberships within the basket of benefits
are not part of the total comprehension package. As fitness memberships have
become more common element in the working Australias lives, companies
have come to incorporate membership as a part of their benefit package for
employees.
3. Discuss how the information from 2 may impact on Bounce Fitness staffing in the
future, including the number of staff you will need and what skills your staff will need
to have based on the results of your findings. How will you obtain these people?

4. Discuss how new technology will impact on Bounce Fitness, job roles and how the
jobs are done.
One outstanding revelation was the importance of using technology to improve
customer service and record keeping. This is a new concept being adopted by fitness
institutions worldwide. Technology allows personalization of customer service and
enables constant interaction between organizations and clients. Bounce fitness should
therefore acquire software such as Gym Master which assists in the management of
customer records (Copley). These software in collaboration with internet technology
ease the recording of information since clients can post the information online
allowing the trainer to make follow-ups only.
5. Discuss recent or forecast changes to legislation that could impact on your
staffing.
Overtime regulations: In 2015, the Australian Department of Labor proposed new
salary thresholds for white-collar workers. The proposal would raise the salary
threshold from $455 a week to about $970 a week in 2016. After hearing input from
the public on the proposed increases, the agency is expected to release its final ruling
this spring. Employers will need to be prepared to take immediate action in order to
comply when that ruling is unveiled.
Employee pay: Employers throughout the country will be adapting to minimum wage
increases, as well as new laws on equal pay and paid sick time in 2016. The country's
most stringent equal pay laws went into effect Jan. 1 in Melbourne. These new laws
require that men and women holding the same positions be paid equally. Also this
year, New South Wales becomes just the fourth state in the country to require paid
sick leave for employees. The new statewide law requires employers with at least 10
workers to provide up to five paid sick days a year.
Workers' compensation: 2016 could see some states weakening requirements related
to the insurance costs and processes of workers' compensations. Facing this
possibility, some in Congress have said the federal government may need to step in to
maintain worker protections as benefits erode. Businesses should keep an eye on how
this debate transpires
