is a problem which could date back to it, give Staphisagria, preferably 30C and twice a day. For
resentment and grief, so for any behaviour or condition that could stem from resentment - such as
having been kennelled, a new dog being brought in, and so on.

40.
STRAMONIUM - can be a useful remedy for convulsions, especially those which seem
to start with fear and come at irregular intervals.
41.
STROPHANTHUS HISPIDUS - useful for heart disease, to help deal with fluid
retention and to tone the heart muscle. Diminishes rapidity of heart beat. For mitral regurgitation, with
oedema. A safe diuretic, especially for the old dog.

SULPHUR (Sulph.): ANTI-SPORIC remedy. Has reoccurring or relapses of condition. Stubborn cough,
colds, skin conditions that don 't seem to heal. Great reabsorbent used after acute illnesses.
SYMPHYTUM (Symph.): BONE DISORDERS, pain, fractures, stress fractures. Injuries/blow to the eye.
42.
TARENTULA HISPANIA - for hysteria. Could be of help in treating uncertain temper;
rage syndrome for example. Or petting aggression in cats. Extreme restlessness. Worse for motion,
contact, noise; better in open air, music, rubbing affected parts.
43.
TELLURIUM - mainly a skin remedy; can have good effects in treating ringworm. Also
a good remedy for some ear conditions: inflammation of inner and outer ear, acrid offensive
discharge. Eczema behind ear. Back very sensitive. Worse at night, cold weather, touch, at rest.
44.
THUJA OCCIDENTALIS - (commonly known as Thuja) for the ill effects of
vaccination; for vaccinosis showing up in chronic skin problems. For warts, especially those which
bleed easily. Nails brittle and soft. Flatulence and distention of abdomen with rumbling and colic.
May help with anal adenoma. Worse at night, from cold damp air, vaccination. For warts give orally
and apply the tincture to the warts themselves.
45.
URTICA URENS - urticaria, with burning heat, violent itching; burns and scalds. In

QUICK REFERENCE
HEATSTROKE
Glonium - Heatstroke, collapse from over exposure to heat or sun.
Belladonna - Heatstroke with dilated pupils, staring, wide open, glazed eyes, full pulse.

Apis - All swellings in legs, build up of synovial fluids from strain.
Hypericum - Nerve injury from trauma.

FEAR, FRIGHT, ANXIETY

Rescue Remedy for all emotional and physical anxiety.
Aconite - For all fear fright and anxiety of unknown origin. Aconitum nepalis 200C. Aconitum is very good
for animals when they look terrified. Just give 3 pellets and wait a little bit. If there is no reaction you can
repeat the dose two more times, perhaps 15 minutes apart. If after three doses there is no response, and you
had it, you could also give it at a higher concentration (1M) at least once or twice
Gelsemium - Anticipated anxiety.
Ars - Anxiety and restlessness due to toxicity.
Cham - Anxiety due to irritability and temperamental.
Phos : Try giving him Phosphorous 30C (3 pellets) one dose (in his mouth and separate from any food), .
Then wait, even if it's a few weeks of months. See what happens next time there is a thunderstorm. If he
gets all excited, you can repeat the dose when he starts to get worked up.

CUTS and WOUNDS

Calendula - Internally and topically to aid in healing.
Calendula & Hypericum mixed for injuries to eyes.
FEVERS
Belladonna - Fever with glazed eyes, full pulse, sudden onset.
Bryonia - Fever worse with movement , hot shiny skin.
Aconite - Early stages of all feverish states. Isolated inflammations.
BURNS
Cantharis - All burns physical and internal.
ALLERGIC REACTIONS
Apis - Swellings of any kind and/or due to insect bites, vaccinations, etc
Eczema.
This really needs "constitutional" treatment by a homeopathic vet but is worth trying the following for a
short period (one dose twice daily for up to 10 days )
Sulphur 6C if skin is dry and itchy.
Graphites 6C if eczema is wet.
Worms
China 6C one dose twice daily for 10 days, a break for 7 days, then a further 7 day course can be used as a
preventative. Although there are remedies that can theoretically promote expulsion of worms where they

are currently present in animals, there is not enough evidence to rely on their actions alone.
Kennel Cough : With thanks to www.gsdhelpline.com
1. Aconite- should be given as early as possible in the infection when it will help to speed the immune
reaction. Useful if the dog is restless and has a fever.
2. Phosphorus- indicated in dry cough with flecks of blood appearing in the nasal passages. The animal
may show excitability. Rapid breathing, dry cough, hoarseness.
3. Bryonia- Worse for movement, so the animal is reluctant to move, and when it does the cough is worse.
Dry cough, very thirsty.
4. Spongia Tosta- Cough is harsh and dry, and a whistling sound may be present. Better for rest and often
better after eating.
5. Ipecac- Coughing produces reflex vomiting which can be frequent. The cough is worse at night. Cold
aggravates the cough. Blood may show in the vomit and the expectoration from the cough. The respiration
has been described as "sighing"
6. Carbo Veg.- There is pronounced air hunger and the animal seeks the cool open air. Cough worse in the
evening. This is a valuable remedy for animals which show acute respiratory distress at night.
Use Petroleum 6C to prevent travel sickness. Give a dose just before the journey starts, then at hourly
intervals up to a maximum of 4 doses.
Use Cocculus 6C for a dog that has excessive drooling or has been sick. Give one dose then repeat every
30 minutes for a maximum of 4 doses.
Parvo Virus.
The dog must be seen by a vet throughout the course of the illness as intravenous fluids may be necessary.
There are no drugs that will arrest the illness the following 3 remedies are very useful (and you will
probably need to use them all)
1. At the first sign of blood in stool or vomit give Phosphorus 30C hourly for 4 doses.
2. If parvovirus is confirmed by your vet, start to give Parvovirus nosode 30C, 4 doses daily until the dog
recovers**
3.Give China 6C four times daily to counteract the effects of dehydration.**
** When giving 2 remedies as above, do not give them together, but have at least one hour between each
remedy.
To note:
Arsenicum Album can always follow Nux Vomica but Nux Vomica should be avoided after Arsenic Album.
Calcaria Carb should never be given before Sulphur.
Nux Vomica works at its best after Sun Set
Smelly Skin & Ear Infections
Colloidal Silver - natural anti- fungal, virus, bacteria antibiotic drops. Use straight as a ear drops,
eye cleanse for conjunctivitis in dogs and kittens with Chlamydia.
- Dilute Colloidal Silver and use as a skin rinse to rid fungal infection on animals who have smelly
itchy coats (usually brought on by using chemical antibiotics that destroy the good gut flora)

Homeopathic suggestions which may alleviate Skin Problems

Sulphur: for red and itching skin, made worse by heat. Gums may be red. Good to give with
other skin remedies.
Arsen Alb: skin is dry and scaly, shedding of epidermal scales occurring and accompanied by
harsh, lustreless hair. Animal seeks warmth and shows a desire for small quantities of water
frequently taken. Symptoms become worse after midnight and systemic disturbances include

diarrhoea.
Rhus Tox: when skin aggravated by wet and dog shows stiffness when moving after rest but
moves more easily when exercise process. Skin shows papular of vesicular rash with much
itching and redness. Warmth lessons severity of symptoms.
Antimonium Crud: skin lesions more pronounced on neck, back and limbs, taking form of
papular eruptions which later become scabby, discharging a yellowish secretion. Itching is worse
towards evening and aggravated by warmth.
Mezereum: when skin lesions appear on head in form of large scabs with an underlying purulent
discharge. Sensitivity to touch. Itching rash common over bony areas being surrounded by a red
zone. Exacerbated by scratching and warmth. Should be considered in chronic eczema where
symptoms agree.
Hypericum: suitable for sensation due to external factors, e.g. photosensitization. The resulting
skin lesions may affect non-pigmented areas and appear as reddish ulcerated areas which itch
and have a peeled look. There may be accompanying systemic changes such as jaundice.
Hepar Sulph: Remedy of choice when lesions show extreme sensitivity to external stimuli and
pus is beginning to form. The skin is usually swollen and shiny with a tense appearance. Helpful
in drying up the underlying purulent discharge in those cases attended by crusts and scabs.
Psorinum: nosode may be necessary in eczemas of a particularly unpleasant nature with
pronounced musty odour and severe itching. Skin is usually dry, and the lesion is frequently of a
vesicular of pustular type.
Cacillinum: general inter-current remedy which activates the skin, this nosode will be of service.
Particularly suitable in cases with dry scaly lesions.
Tellurium: when this remedy is indicated the skin lesions usually take the form of circular reddish
areas, frequently on both sides of the body in symmetrical fashion. The outer ear flap is a
predilection site.
With skin problems, they unfold usually from one remedy to the next. For instance, skin could go
from one state to another as the healing process occurs and would then call for another remedy
which suits the following process. I usually suggest Newton's Detox and Skin Complex. I would
get that if you can. Or along with a choice or two of the above remedies I would also get
Chelidonium for the liver and Apis Mel. for changes in kidney tissue accompanied by oedema
and swelling as well as Urtica Urens if you want to help eliminate the waste product via the urine
(it promotes urination).

we have one rotating homeopathy kit that we use for our street animals..i dont know what
'injury' or 'gunpowder' is in homeopathic parlance, but thats the name the homeopathy
store has given in india...our instructions is as follows:
1.Injury 30 -for cuts, wounds etc. Give twice a day or more depending on the extent.
2.Gunpowder30-for deep wounds.
3.Shock -To help an animal in shock, treat fear etc.
4.Hypericum 30 or above -For spinal injuries, paralysis of the hind legs etc..start as soon
as possible for best results. It works...lame animals begin to walk again!

5.Sulphur 30-For all skin related problems

6.Camphor 30 -to treat maggot infested wounds.
7.Hekla Lava- for gum infections.
8. Arnica-For pain.
9. Cinna 6x-for deworming.
but these are just for injuries..what i'd really like to do is make the animals less
aggressive on the streets....often, they chase vehicles..sometimes, i think they do it in
play...once, i was cycling on the street and this one dog kept running behind me,
barking...knowing that running away from a chasing dog is the worst thing one can do, i
stopped..and the dear chap tried to climb over me and attempted to lick my face...it is
heartbreaking to know that these very dogs are labelled as 'violent' and captured to be
culled ..altho' sometimes, they are territorial and become fierce when other dogs from
other areas try to enter their street..the worst time is the mating season when unsterilised
dogs go crazy. they do demonstrate pack behaviour..and if the alpha in the pack is
aggressive, the rest follow. to remove them from the street(who will take them?) and to
destroy them is NOT an option. vaccinations and collars are for their protection, but if i
can somehow figure out a way to calm them down, then man and beast can live without
fear of each other.

Post subject: street dogs in India

I better understand the situation. It is complex as you say. I think this is a larger
problem than you can deal with of course. Society has to take responsibility. We
have the same issues here. People can adopt a dog, let it run loose, vaccinated or
unvaccinated, and nothing is done about it. I used to jog in a place I lived in
Washington state and there was a pack of dogs allowed to roam. They would
sometimes see me and come as a group aggressively, even circling around me
like you see wolves act when hunting. I had to carry a big stick...
I always worried that some child would get attacked by them.
I think you are doing the best you can under the circumstances. I suggest that
when you vaccinate you use just one vaccine at a time, e.g., just Rabies by itself.

Less chance of complications.

If we assume giving just Rabies, then would it be possible to watch the dog for a
couple of weeks after that? I can give you some hints as to what remedy to give
for behavioral changes following Rabies vaccine. They are brief but under the
circumstances the best we can do.
1. If the dog becomes more aggressive, attacking or even killing other animals,
give Lyssin 200c, one dose.
2. If any physical problems develop where there is bleeding or the skin turning
bluish, give Lachesis 200c, one dose.
3. If the dog becomes jumpy, over-reacting to sounds, acting like it is seeing
things not there, barking and howling excessively, give Belladonna 200c, one
dose.
4. If the dog starts acting wild, ferocious, almost crazy, give Stramonium 200c,
one dose.
5. If the dog begins to show excessive sexual behavior, give Hyoscyamus 200c,
one dose.
There are other remedies possible. Look at the rubric "Hydrophobia" in the
mental section of the repertory.
Good luck.

The book by German vet H.G. Wolff - Homoeopathic Medicine for Dogs - gives the most
detail on this method of choosing a constitutional remedy for a dog.
Another way of dealing with the choice of remedy for a problem is to look at the cause of
the problem, where that is known or can be guessed at. For example, any problem
occurring after trauma would probably first be treated by giving Arnica, although another
remedy - Bellis perennis - is also a good remedy for trauma, but more for deeper trauma
than Arnica. It is sometimes possible to say "s/he has never been well since........" and this
can be very helpful in finding the right remedy. If it is "never well since s/he was
spayed/neutered" or "had that operation for....", then the remedy to give is Staphysagria.
If it is "never well since our old dog died" (or the cat/horse/guinea pig, etc.) or "since she
lost her puppies", then the remedy would be Ignatia, at least as a first step. If that did not
effect a complete cure, then the next step would be to use either Nat. mur. or Phos. acid.
More detail on this is given in Christopher Day's book The Homoeopathic Treatment of
Small Animals.
Additional Notes:
Belladonna-Pupils are dilated, glassy-eyed look, anger, flies into a rage, they may have
red, hot, ears, or eyes, and may tear up bedding or furniture, inflammation, restless,
delirious, aggressive.
-Hyoscyamus-Hypersexual, animals that hump legs, or whatever they can, even if
neutered, suspicion, jealousy.
-Lachesis-They hate anything around their neck especially collars, are jealous and
suspicious but not as intense as Hyoscyamus, aggression comes from a perceived
threat, think of a snake striking its prey, worse when sleeping, be cautious when dealing
with them just waking up.
-Staphysagria-Females or males who spray, have aggression, resentment that another
animal is brought into the house, any changes in their life that result in anger of the
animal, anger, a must to use after any female has been spayed. Also good for decaying
teeth where the tops are blackened and yes, it will reverse it. They also
cower/shake/startle at loud voices or sudden moves, like if you go to pet them, from their
memories of previous abuse. I helped a dog over come his abuse with this remedy, and
he would not let anyone get within 10 feet of him. Now he is like a barnacle on my leg
and plays again like a puppy.
-Nux Vomica-Chilly, thin, wants to be left alone, bossy, first in line for food and attention.

Great for hairballs, constipation or diarrhea with lots of straining and detoxing.
-Stramonium-Post-rabies vaccination aggression, fear triggers the aggression, fear of
the dark or bright lights.
-Merc Viv-They are worse from discipline, may bite and snarl when disciplined, tend to
have mouth problems, do not like the extremes of hot nor cold.
-Phosphorus-Narrow-bodied, very vocal especially with food, vomits water or food within
30 minutes after eating, class clown, life of the party, burn out quickly, bleed easily. Fear
of thunder and fireworks as well.
-Pulsatilla-Shy,sweet, affectionate, dogs that bark when you leave because they don't
want to be left alone, prefers cool surfaces to lie on, eye discharges.
-Natrum Mur-Worse from consolation, they are fine when you pet them, and then they
lash out, and sulk afterwards. Likes salt, worse from heat or sun, good for any animal
that has been abandoned, separted from mom too early, or siblings too early. Works
nicely in conjunction with Ignatia if needed.
-Ignatia-Good for any animal who has grief, sadness, loss of appetite from this, any
animal that has been abused, neglected, abandoned, lost a loved one, etc.
-Sepia-Animals that are difficult to medicate, very chilly, sad, like to hide, and have dirty,
waxy, itchy ears. I use the 30C daily here, until resolved.
Arsenicum Album-Poisoning, very thin animals, who have a fear of being left alone and
worsen when left alone, solitude is a no-no because of their anxiety, obsessive cleaning
of themselves, very chilly, thirsty, but drink little sips of water often, may or may not eat,
and hangs head over food but does not eat, they are restless and change positions
often, weakness, symptoms worse before midnight.

------------------------------------For aggressiveness: (http://www.nativeremedies.com/petalive/aggression-formula-cat-dogbehavior.html?kbid=19229#tabs)

Aggression Formula is a 100% homeopathic formula and contains the following ingredients in
therapeutic dosage: Arsen alb (30C), Belladonna (30C), Chamomilla (3X), Hepar sulph (30C),
Sucrose, Scutellaria (3X).

Scutellaria (3X) is a well-regarded homeopathic remedy for addressing issues of

the nervous system. It may be used for situational problems linked to a demanding event
(e.g. a trip to the vet or a competitive event) encouraging calm behavior while also
soothing tempered pets. (Wolfson, P. and Hoffmann, D. L. An investigation into the
efficacy of Scutellaria lateriflora in healthy volunteers.&rdquo Altern Ther Health Med

2003;9(2):74-78.)
Chamomilla (3X) has been used by European naturopaths for centuries. It has
natural calming properties and can help to facilitate soothed behavior in your pet. In one
cardiac study, patients fell asleep soon after drinking Chamomile tea (Gould, L., Reddy,
C. V., and Gomprecht, R. F. Cardiac effects of chamomile tea.&rdquo J Clin.Pharmacol.
1973;13(11):475-479.)
Belladonna (30C) is a homeopathic remedy included in this formula for its
positive effects on oversensitive animals that are prone to 'hissy fits' and that tend to
manifest physically in the form of scratching or hissing.
Arsen alb (30C) is a natural remedy used to support the affectionate and
sensitive pet that nevertheless tends to become easily agitated and restless, often
needing lots of reassurance. Pets who have a tendency towards jealousy would also find
this ingredient beneficial.
Hepar sulph (30C) is often recommended for oversensitive, restless personality
types who hide their angst by displaying irritability and as well as those who take
unreasonable likes or dislikes to others.

For Skin problems- losing hair:

Rishi suggests:
You may also give them Neomec tabs each. Dosage is ONE tab a WEEK. For not more than 3-4
weeks. This will help a little.
But application is a must in order to cure it. You can also use the usual neem oil. Take one tea
spoon of neem oil and mix it in 1 lt water. Shake it well and apply it over the dogs body by rubbing
the mix. This needs to be done once a week only and shows great results. Dont use more than
one teas spoon
Nilesh Suggests:
Scabnil Ointment once a day
or 2. Mixture/Paste made of Neem Leaves / Kapur / Coco-nut Oil
From this site: http://www.masterjules.net/catmed.htm

Once again feeding your pets with a preservative free diet will keep
your pets from getting the harmful effects of the bacteria build up of
plaque which can build up on their teeth and become hard, the
sugars that are added to the commercial tin foods actually cause the
plaque bacteria, sugar and plaque combined, forms an acid in which
it is the acid that eventually causes the decay. ANITA SAYS: I never
feed kibble unless someone gives me a bag and then I do til it's gone.
Resume real meat!Ear Mites/Infections - HOW TO HEAL THE
NATURAL WAY - Mix 5% of 3% volume of hydrogen Peroxide with
1/2 teaspoon of wheat germ Oil and add about 3 mls of water.......
(Warming the mixture, by placing small bowl onto a larger bowl of
warm water)
*For Ear Mites (if yousee black crud in animal's ear when you use q
tip, that's mite poop,) use either a cotton ball or eye dropper fill eye
dropper and gently trickle mixture into the ear canal (approx half a

teaspoon) let it run down into the ear for a few seconds then from the
base of the ear gently massage it(hear the squishing sound)
massage for 2/3 minutes then let the cat or dog shake their head, do
this procedure each day for 3 days then repeat same the following
week. Anita skips the drip but adds kick butt vermifuges like black
walnut extracted from nut husks, easily, infused in lemon or vodka,
garlic, tea tree oil, neem oil, on q tip. Swab a few days in a row. IF
THE BLACK mite poop is gone, discontinue treatment.
For Ear Infections do the same except treat the ear everyday until no
more brown fluid is present or the wax has been cleared. And
important to put your pet on a natural raw meat/veg diet and food
supplements is vitamin, many of ear infections are caused from poor
quality food/food allergy/low immune system.........I sometimes
alternate with some wheat germ oil and some herbal
goldenseal(antibiotic) and use dropper to put drops into ear
canal and gentle massage a few minutes and wipe away any brown
pus.
In order to completely heal the ear canal and stay free from re
infections or mites the animal needs to be put on a good nutritional
diet, as the animal will not be susceptible anymore due to lack of the
essential vitamins/minerals to maintain top health.
If you need to Vaccinate you pet always play it safe and get your pet
