Myprojectisaresearchpaperfocusingonthebenefitsassociatedwiththedevelopmentofacultureofstudentleadership.Iwanttolookatthe
benefitsforallstudentsinparticularstudentsthatareatrisk.Ibelievethatstudentleadershipandincreaseengagementanddrive.An
intrinsicallymotivatedpersonneedstohavethepassionanddrive,ifweareabletodevelopthisdriveforlearningatayoungagewewill
developaworldwithleaders(MaslowsHierchyofNeeds).

Rationale
:Howdoesthisprojectfitintowhatyouarelearninginyourprogramasawhole,andwhyisitimportantforothereducators?How

Thisresearchprojectwillfocusonthedevelopmentofacultureofstudentleadershipinaschooltoprovideallstudentsthe
opportunitytoleadandtorealizethebenefitsofsuchopportunities.Themoreopportunitiesforstudentstoleadatayoungage,the
morelikelytheywillbecomeleadersinthefuture(Pozner,2012).Theproblemthatexistsinourcurrentschoolsisstudents
lackingstronganalyticalskillsanddrivethatis,agenerallackofinterestorenthusiasmforlearningorforthecommunityasa
whole(Covey,2008).Anintrinsicallymotivatedpersonneedstohavethepassionanddrive,ifweareabletodevelopthisdrivefor
learningatayoungagewewilldevelopaworldwithleaders.Thiswillcontinueintotheirhighschoolandpostsecondary
experiencesaswellasintheeventualworkplace(Covey,2008).

Thepracticalapplicationforencouragingapassionforlearning
clearly
pertainstostudentleadershipopportunities.Businesscommunitiescanalsousethisasastartingpointforfindingleaders
withintheirorganizations.Thistypeofpracticalapplicationcanbeusedinanyschoolorbusinesssetting(Pozner,2012).
