College life brings with it’s own share of experiences ~ unique and spe- cial, one that can't be found elsewhere. And no, we den’t just mean exams or the usual college day functions, but more, The practice ses- sions before the youth festival, the lunch breaks where we catch up on the usual gossip, the pranks we play in class, well, the list is endless. Thanksto the teachers and the management, two weeks back, we were given the privilege of enjoying all these various experiences, at one go and in one special package. After two whole months of heated discus- sions and endless hours of meticulous planning, the dy of the class-trip, finally dawned on the students, bright and full. Students and the teach- ers boarded the bus on 8th September, 2014, to visit a few of the country’s best tourist destinations, The journey on the bus wes great fun, Students danced to their hearts content, watched a few monies and pulled pranks on each other till they were completely worn out. The hours seemed to fly by, and before long, they reached thelr first destina- tion — Coorg The team reached Coorg by noon, after an entice day of travelling. After a quick lunch and a few minutes of washing up, they left the hotel for the Bamboo forest. Over there, they had a brief commu- rion with nature, and enjoyed the serenity it brought. But they were in fora rather exhilaratingexperience, soon after. They went rafting an the river which flows through the middle of the Dobara forest, The experl- ence left our adrenalines pumping sa hard and for some of them it fatt like a near-death encounter. Yet, it was so thoraughly enjoyable that a few of them even opted fora secand round of rafting! This was followed bya visitto the Golden Temple in Coorg, The entire surrounding ended such peace and beauty, that it overwhelmed them. Looking Into the faces of those monks, one couldn't help but wish for such quiet assur- ance and calm. When they got back to the hotel, ot night, they were worn out and tired. But that didn't stop them from dancing away to glory, to the tunes of our in-house DI, around the campfire. They slept somewhere around the wee hours af the morning. The next day, by around nine inv the morning, they were on their wayto Mysore, The first stop was the Chamundy hills, where they loitered around a bit. Then they visited the Chamundy temple, did some quick shopping from the nearby streets and left for the Mysore palace. The Mysore palace was rather enchanting. It gave them a quick glimpse into the aristocratic world of the past, Leaving behind the world of Tipu Sultan and his many wives, they had another round of shopping and a quick dinner, before retiring for the night, NG: Anusree Venugopal, Aswathy Jagannadhan, Goplia G, Kiran S, Linu Ann Wilson, Nauta Nazar, Nidhi-C Mohan of S7 CE wt ice foie. These are near and nonlinear prograrneing problems. LUnear Programming Problems is called LPP. In short, “programming” means planning, The word linear indicates that ail relationshins Invelved are linear, Simplex method of LPs the first mathematical technique developed (in 1947) in this field. Transportation problem fs a particular type of LRP. where we find quantities to be transported from m sources to n destinations, in such » way that the total transportation cost is mininiined. Assignment problems alse a special type of LPP. in which the objective isto find the optimum allocation of a number of jobs to an equal number of persons. 2.
