Justice Matters Annual Jubilee

You are invited to attend A night of rejoicing together over our mutual call toward a more just city in
Lawrence. Special guest, Walter Brueggemann, Old
Testament scholar and author of Prophetic Imagination.
Liberty Hall, 644 Massachusetts
Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Music/Dancing at 8:30 p.m.
Refreshments available. Formal wear optional. Participants will be invited to financially invest in Justice
Matters.

Our new sanctuary chairs have been ordered! As approved by the SLT, when we
reached 1/2 of our needed funds, wed be able to place an order for 250 chairs.
Thanks to your speedy and awesome generosity, we have done just that! NOW, we
need to finish raising the remainder so we can close
out this debt in short order! Each chair is $61.90
and if you are able to contribute that amount, or
more, (perhaps one for each family member?), it
would certainly be appreciated.
The chairs will be tan in color, have a book rack under each, and a place to put a communion cup.
It will take about 14 weeks to manufacture the
chairs and fulfill our order. We anticipate an
arrival date sometime the end of August or
near Labor Day.
If you have questions, please contact the
church office, or Wendy Wheeler, Facilities
Steward, 393-3688.

Save the Date!

June 25-July 2 QUEST!

Our youth leaders and students
leave in just two weeks for
summer camp in Wisconsin.
There are some pretty excited
kids around here!
What is Quest? Quest is a remarkable, ridiculously fun, reimagined way for youth groups
and youth leaders to experience God, encounter Christ,
grow closer as a group, and refocus! It is completely different than any other youth group experience. (www.glcc.org)
Here a few of the things theyll be doing while there:
WORSHIP: Immersive experiences invite students to participate in a tangible way and actively engage in worship.
BIBLE STUDY: Students interact with scripture and with
each other for two hours each morning in small groups
separated by age.
GROUP DAY OUT: From lunch to dinner on Wednesday, youth groups are free to plan their own events either
on the grounds or at nearby attractions.
CHRIST-CENTERED FOCUS: Quest is about bringing
youth groups together while bringing individual students
closer to Christ.
CLIMBING TOWER
ZIP LINE
CHALLENGE COURSE
WATERFRONT ACTIVITIES
BACK HOME TIME: Following evening worship, each
youth group gathers for Back Home Connection to reflect
upon the day and talk about Gods work in their lives.
Please pray for our youth and leaders (adult sponsors:
Winston & Jesse Heilman, Troy Reimer, and Neal Purvis)
that their journey is fun, fulfilling, and safe.
