First Grade Notes

Date: 2015 - 2016

Team Meetings:
4/20- Discussed NWEA and end of year evaluations; creating a test that we can
administer ourselves to show growth; we worked on organizing our collaboration
with kindergarten for our social studies PBL; discussed the math and social
studies situations for next year; Tricia shared several great apps to use for our
Opinion Unit.
3/3- Discussed upcoming field trip; budget needs for next year; NWEA progress
reports to go home; starting geography unit next week.
2/17- Discussed field trip to Imagination Station and how we are going to cover
costs. Discussed budget items. Talked to Linda Mueller about the early literacy
grant and what we might like to order. We worked on revising our writing
curriculum map for next year.
12/ 17- Assess the week we are back from vacation; Writing Workshop
information has been shared and will be put into practice in the new year.
Mellissa Wilson will be helping to kick it off the week of Jan. 11; Pilot Math=
Everyday Math, Pearson, Engage NY. We still have no teacher material from
Engage NY; Discussed class rotation for Tuesday before vacation
(8:45-9:30/recess/10-10:45).

11/18- Discussed signing up for a formal in (math); Student growth for evaluation
is 25%; Discussed new math curriculum options pros/cons; planned our
Thanksgiving holiday rotation activities; setting date for Christmas party
celebration; talked about upcoming NWEA window.
10/8 - Kids coming down with breakfast becoming a problem; Good touch/ bad
touch lesson soon. Send parent note in advance; Officer Phil assembly a.m.;
Week of Oct. 12 Mix It Up lunch; NWEA parent reports home after Oct. 16;
discussed grade level growth score for Domain 1 to encourage us to feel we are
able to work together and be a team rather than putting us against each other.
9/14- Constitution Day plan, NWEA warm-up, Pre-Testing, Website rotation,
standards on website, I-Pad Cart rotation.
