Table Saw

(Rip cutting and Cross cutting)


1. Wear suitable safety products (glasses, face shield, hearing
protection, footwear, etc.)
2. Choose proper blade, and keep clean, sharp, and properly
set with the guards placed.
3. Ensure fence is locked in position and gold work piece
firmly down on the table against fence.
4. Feed stock into the blade against the direction of its
rotation.
5. Shut off and unplug (or lock out) a saw before doing any
work on the saw to keep it clean and once done.

Jointer Planer

1. Wear suitable safety products (glasses, face shield, hearing


protection, footwear, etc.)
2. Use sharp, balanced, and joined knives, and replace old
square cutting heads with round heads
3. Ensure start and stop buttons are within easy and
convenient reach
4. Make sure swing guard pushes beside the stock as it
passes over the cutting heads and returns against fence
after stock is removed
5. Use hold-down push blocks and maintain an adequate
amount of downward and forward force with push blocks
as the knife blades on a revolving cutting head can take
the stock from an operators hands
6. Shut off and unplug (or lock out) before doing any work to
keep it clean or when done.

Band saw

Be sure that drill bit is securely installed in the chuck before operation
Keep hands well away from the drill bit and all moving parts
Stay alert! Give your work your undivided attention
Presh drill into wood until you hear a cracking sound or feel a pop

2. Make sure all guard are in place and adjusted. Ensure all band wheels
are enclosed.
3. Ensure blade is tracking correctly, runs freely in and against the upper
and lower guide rollers, and is under proper tension (equipped with
automatic tension control is desirable)
4. Hold stock firmly and flat against the blade and use a push stick to
move cut pieces close to the blade.
5. Make relief cuts before tight curves and that there is adequate lighting
at the machine table
6. Shut off and unplug (or lock out) before doing any work to keep it clean
or when done.

Mitre Saw
1. Wear suitable safety products (glasses, face shield, hearing protection,
footwear, dust mask etc.)
2. Attach saw firmly on a workbench or other rigid frame and operate
saw at waist height, must be clamped with large C clamps
3. Keep one hand on the trigger switch and handle and use the other had
to hold the stock against the fence, keep hands out of the path and
guards in place and in working order
4. Ensure that blade rotates in correct direction and that it is tight, clean,
sharp and properly set so it cuts easily
5. Allow motor to reach full speed before cutting and work space well
lit.
6. Shut off and unplug (or lock out) before doing any work to keep it
clean or when done.

DISC AND BELT SANDER


1. Wear suitable safety products (glasses, face shield, hearing
protection, footwear, etc.)
2. Keep hands away from abrasive surface and hold small or thin
pieces of stock in a jig/holding device to prevent injuries to hand
3. Adjust work rests on all manually fed sanders to provide
minimum clearance between belt and rest
4. Sand downward side of a disc sander
5. Sand the way the belt is moving
6. Shut off and unplug (or lock out) before doing any work to keep it
clean or when done.
