Boiler, Cooling Tower and Softener Tank sample testing procedure

Boiler
1. Fill in 80 ml of sample in 100ml beaker
Isikan 80 ml sampel di dalam bikar 100ml
2. Place the pH probe to take the pH reading
Ambil bacaan pH
3. Add 2 drops of phenolphthalein (Pink)
Masukkan 2 titis fenoftalein (Pink)
4. Titer the sample with hydrochloric acid until the sample turns clear
Masukkan asid hidroklorik perlahan lahan sehingga sample menjadi tidak
berwarna
5. Place the TDS probe inside the sample to measure TDS and conductivity (Press
Mode to change TDS to Conductivity)
Ambil bacaan TDS dan Conductivity (Tekan Mode untuk tukar dari TDS ke
Conductivity)
Cooling Tower & Softener Tank
1. Fill in 80 ml of sample in 100ml beaker
Isikan 80 ml sampel di dalam bikar 100ml
2. Place the pH probe and take the pH reading
Ambil bacaan pH
3. Place the TDS probe inside the sample to measure TDS and conductivity (Press
Mode to change TDS to Conductivity)
Ambil bacaan TDS dan Conductivity (Tekan Mode untuk tukar dari TDS ke
Conductivity
Total Hardness (Hanna Test Kit)
1. Fill in 5 ml of sample in sample beaker
Isikan 5 ml sampel di dalam bikar sample
2. Add 5 drops of Buffer
Masukkan 5 titis Buffer
3. Add 1 drop of INDICATOR
Masukkan 1 titis INDICATOR
4. Mix the solution well until a uniform color is achieved (Blue / Purple)
Larutkan sehingga sample bertukar menjadi warna biru/ungu
5. Fill the syringe to 0.0ml of EDTA
Isikan EDTA sehingga 0.0ml kedalam picagari
6. Add EDTA drop by drop until the solution turns blue
Masukkan EDTA sehingga sample bertukar menjadi warna biru
7. Record the amount EDTA used and multiply by 300 mg/L
Rekod jumlah EDTA yang digunakan dan darab dengan 300 mg/L
Total Hardness = Volume Used X 300 mg/L

Total Hardness (Orchidis Test Kit) For Boiler & Cooling Tower
Method 1
1. Fill in 12.5ml sample in a sample tube
Isikan 12.5 ml sampel di dalam sample tube
2. Add 4 drops of K10 Buffer (TH Ammonia Buffer)
Masukkan 4 titis K10 Buffer
3. Add 2 drops of NET INDICATOR (Eriochrome Black T)
Masukkan 2 titis NET INDICATOR
4. Mix the solution well until a uniform color is achieved (Blue / Purple)
Larutkan sehingga sample bertukar menjadi warna biru/ungu
5. Add EDTA solution by counting each drop until the solution turns from purple to
blue (* if the sample is blue before adding EDTA, the hardness is 0)
Masukkan sambil mengira setiap titis EDTA sehingga sample bertukar dari
warna ungu ke biru.
(1 drop /titis = 1oF = 10 mg/L as CaCO3)
Method 2
1. Fill in 12.5ml sample in a sample tube
Isikan 12.5 ml sampel di dalam sample tube
2. Add 20 drops of REAGENT A/G (Potassium Hydroxide)
Masukkan 20 titis REAGENT A/G
3. Add 1 scoop of ECAL INDICATOR and mix the solution well
Tambah 1 sudu ECAL INDICATOR dan larutkan sehingga sample bertukar
menjadi warna biru/ungu
4. Add EDTA solution by counting each drop until the solution turns from purple to
blue
Masukkan sambil mengira setiap titis EDTA sehingga sample bertukar dari
warna ungu ke biru.
(1 drop/titis = 1oF = 10 mg/L as CaCO3)
