Introduction
This assessment will be containing the copyright, ethics and privacy policy of an
organization. The name of the organization is NetMovies. The company is concerned
with the privacy legislation. The report will consist the privacy and security policy of the
company followed by various other topics such as Federal and state privacy acts. This
report will also constitutes current privacy legislation, the personal details of an
individual, and the accuracy of the information and the use of the information.
Privacy and security policy
NetMovies presents its Privacy and Security Policy so that, when making your purchase
with us, you always make sure that the confidentiality and privacy of your data will be
respected within the strictest safety standards on the Internet.
This means that any data provided by you, either at the time of purchase or subscription
to any of our services, security will be kept in our files.
Periodically may be used personal information to send important notices, such as, the
progress and history of your order.
As NetMovies believes that this information is important, you cannot choose not to
receive such communications.
Privacy Act:
The Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act) regulates how personal information is handled. The
Privacy Act defines personal information as:

information or an opinion, whether true or not, and whether recorded in a material


form or not, about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably
identifiable.
Common examples are an individuals name, signature, address, telephone number, date
of birth, medical records, bank account details and commentary or opinion about a
person.
The Privacy Act includes thirteen Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), which apply to
some private sector organizations, as well as most Australian and Norfolk Island
Government agencies. These are collectively referred to as APP entities. The Privacy
Act also regulates the privacy component of the consumer credit reporting system, tax
file numbers, and health and medical research.

Privacy legislation:
The Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act) is an Australian law which regulates the handling of
personal information about individuals.
Personal information is information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an
individual who is reasonably identifiable.
The Privacy Act includes thirteen Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). The APPs set out
standards, rights and obligations for the handling, holding, use, accessing and correction
of personal information (including sensitive information).
Federal Privacy Act:
The principal piece of federal legislation regulating privacy in Australia is the Privacy
Act. The Privacy Act regulates the handling of personal information by the Australian
Government, the ACT Government and the private sector. The Act contains a set of 11
Information Privacy Principles (IPPs) that apply to Australian Government and ACT
Government agencies, and 10 National Privacy Principles (NPPs) that apply to the
private sector.
The Privacy Act does not regulate the handling of personal information by the state
governments or the Northern Territory Government, except to a very limited extent.
The Privacy Act is expressed to bind the Crown in right of the Commonwealth, of each

of the States, of the Australian Capital Territory, of the Northern Territory and of Norfolk
Island. State and territory public sector authorities, however, fall outside the definition
of public sector agency, and are specifically excluded from the definition of private
sector organization. State and territory authorities include ministers, departments,
bodies established or appointed for a public purpose under state and territory law, and
state and territory courts. Under s 6F of the Privacy Act, however, states and territories
may request that state and territory authorities be brought into the regime by regulations
made under the Act.

State Privacy Act:


The Office of the Commissioner for Privacy and Data Protection was established by the
Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) in September 2014. The Act is designed to
protect all information held by the Victorian public sector, including the personal
information of individuals. The Office of the Commissioner for Privacy and Data
Protections mission is to safeguard Victorians information and support information
innovation.
Information of Individual:
