OBJECTIVE
To develop the super capacitor with high power density by
using graphene as electrode coating material
To analyse the surface response methodology of graphene
based electrode material

NEED FOR THE PROJECT

Energy storage device is capable of storing large

amount of energy in relatively small volume.

Now days energy density and cycle life are imminent

where extra high power is required.

Dynamic load variations.
It can be used in hybrid electric vehicles, memory

backup, and other emergency power supply devices

due to their higher power density, superior cycle
lifetime, and low maintenance cost.

WORK DONE
DESIGN AND MODELING OF
SUPERCAPACITOR
To study the complete behavior of the system one
has to use the response surface methodology. By
using this approach, wrong conclusion results
can be minimized.

EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE
Current collectors have to be taken that is aluminium foil and
then sulfuric acid to be coated on it.
The nano graphene particals are coated on the surface of
sulfuric acid
The seperator is placed between the two coated graphene
sheets
By using impedance analyser, we can estimate the following
parameters

impedance

capacitance

TEST CONFIGURATION
The permittivity of the graphene is changes as the frequency
changes.
Length-8 cm and breath is 2.5cm and the sulfuric acid level is
1ml.
Graphene coated on the surface level is 0.5gram
Kraft paper is used as seperator and the permittivity is 2.2

CONFIGURATION CAPACITOR DESIGN

are two configurations available

There

Series configuration
parallel configuration
The formula is used to find the capacitance is given by
C
By using above equation calculated capacitance is given by .19pF
Impedance analyzer is used to find the capacitance and
impedance by using test sample.

SERIES CONFIGURATION
By maintaining the capacitance constant,we can
increase the voltage levels connecting with series .
But the Equivalent capacitance will decrease and the
corresponding reactance will increases.
Arrangement of the capacitor is three stack combined
with the one stack
