Take a present trial of yours, whether it be large or small

and walk through the following points of application in
order to learn from your adversity.
1. Submit to the trial - This doesnt mean that we stop
praying to come out of the trial, but instead while we long
for the trial to be finished we ALSO acknowledge that God
has a purifying purpose for us.
2. Bring the Word of God to bear on the situation - How
does God want you to obey Him in this trial. Based on the
Scriptures, what are you learning about yourself and about
God?
3. Remember the lessons learned in adversity - Remember what youve been learning in this trial or have learned
from other trials so that you may continue to endure. (Deut
8:2-3).

Philippians 2 instructs to Christians to work out your

own salvation with fear and trembling (Phil 2:12) and this
is to be done without grumbling or disputing (Phil 2:14).
Paul is emphasizing, as he does throughout the entire
epistle, an attitude to rejoice in the Lord always (Phil
4:4). Pray and ask the Lord to help you to do all things
without grumbling, to find your contentment in Him, and
to rejoice in Him always.

Tuesday

Thursday

Bible Reading: Luke 5:17-26; Phil. 2:1-11; Psalm 119:129-136; 2 Kings 8-9

Bible Reading: Luke 5:33-39; Phil. 2:19-30; Psalm 119:145-152; 2 Kings 12-13

Psalm 119:131 shows us that a worshiping person longs/

pants for the commandments of God. Is this true of you?
If not, pray that God would give you as deep a desire for
His Word that you have for physical nourishment.

Read the following quote on Psalm 119 from Jesse Johnson. Pray for a greater understanding of all that is written
in this Psalm:
Psalm 119 is the longest poem in the Bible. It is the longest prayer in the Bible. It is the longest acrostic in the
Bible. It is the longest chapter in the Bible. It stands at the
center of the Bible, and it is about the Bible. The longest
Psalm is a psalm about Psalms. The most intimidating
chapter in the Word is also a chapter about the Word.
The scope of Psalm 119 is both huge (22 stanzas) and
limited (every verse is about scripture). The chapter covers
every aspect of lifesuccesses, failures, victories, defeats,
prosperity and adversityand yet is also almost entirely a
prayer (nearly every verse is directed to Yahweh).
