2016 FARMERS MARKET GUIDE INSIDE

In our region, "fresh" is the taste of summer.
And you can't get fresher than fruits and vegetables that you buy
direct from local farm families. That's why I'm pleased once again
to provide this guide to help you connect with fresh, locally grown
food at Farmers Markets all across Jefferson, Oswego and St.
Lawrence Counties.
I hope you will visit your favorite market, or even try a new
oneand make sure to take some time to meet the farmers and
producers who bring to our table some of the best tasting, nutritious
food anywhere. And if you're a senior citizen, be sure to turn this
pamphlet over to learn if you qualify to get a voucher for FREE
farm-fresh food from a market near you.

Senator Ritchie is Working to Connect You to Fresh, Local Food

As Chair of the Senate's Agriculture Committee, I'm always working to find ways
to bring good, fresh food from local farms right to tables in our communities.

Seniors Qualify for Free

Farmers Markets Products
The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program provides
$20 vouchers that fixed income seniors can use at most
area farmers markets. Once again, this year, I was able
to expand this program so that 2,700 seniors from our
area will qualify. To qualify, seniors 60 and older must not
exceed these income guidelines.
