ABSTRACT
This research is carried out in order to find out the study of goal setting and self
regulation of chemistry students in private secondary schools in Oto Awori Local
Government area of Lagos state. Three research questions and three hypotheses
were formulated. The descriptive survey design was adopted for the study and the
population of the study is made up of two third of the private secondary schools in
Oto Awori Local Government Area. The questionnaire was the instrument used for
collection of data. This data was collected and analyzed using chi-square method.
The research revealed that the level of education and self regulation are not
significantly related to mass achievements or goal setting of chemistry students.
