The Current Situation of Greenhouse Effect in Thailand
The rate of the Greenhouse Effect in Thailand increases since 2013 which causes
high rise in temperature. The purpose of this research report was to describe the current
situation of the Greenhouse Effect in Thailand. The importance of this research report is
to provide information on the current situation of the Greenhouse Effect in Thailand. The
pieces of information found in this research report were based on six resources. First, the
article from www-ramanathan.ucsd.edu showed how Greenhouse gasses make the
temperature of the surface and the atmosphere increases. Second, Kenneth R. Weiss on
her article about Global greenhouse-gas emissions set to fall in 2015 revealed the rates
of global carbon in 2015 and the rate of temperature that have been raised by Greenhouse
effect per year. Third, an article entitled Disadvantages of the Greenhouse Effect that
the author showed about the disadvantages of Greenhouse effect in many aspects. Next,
the article from www.eastgwillimbury.com pointed out the methods for people to prevent
the Greenhouse effect for our world. Moreover, Marc Lallanila on his article about What
is the Greenhouse effect showed what is the Greenhouse effect and how it happens.
Finally, the article from www.vcharkarn.com explained the causes and the future effects
of the Greenhouse effect to Earth.

The Greenhouse Effect
The Greenhouse Effect happens because there are some gases called
Greenhouse gasses which are carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and CFC cover
most of the atmosphere instead of Ozone. Normally, the ozone will protect the surface of
the Earth by keeping some of the UV radiation and then reflects it back. Thus, this makes
just some amount of the radiation can go through the Earths surface. In contrast, when
there are a lot of Greenhouse gasses cover the atmosphere, these gases can not keep the
radiation like the ozone. Thus, when the sun radiation comes to the atmosphere, it can
easily pass through to the Earths surface in the large amount and then the Earths
temperature will increase and affects people and the Earth in many aspects (Supawadee,
2011). Taking about each of the Greenhouse gasses, first, Carbon dioxide or CO2 is the
gas that comes from fuel burning in the atmosphere. It is composed of one carbon and
two oxygens. Second is Methane or CH4 which has no color and can easily light a fire. It
can be found in the coal bed methane. Third, Nitrous oxide, at present, this gas increases
rapidly because of the industry especially the plastic industry. Finally, CFC, the CFC will
react with UV in the atmosphere and destroy the Ozone and makes the Sun radiation or
infarate go through the Earths surface more and the temperature will be increased. For
the current situation of the Greenhouse effect in Thailand, the rates of the Greenhouse
effect and the rates of carbon emission still increases since 2013. This makes Thailand
gets higher and higher temperature. The average of the global temperature rose around
0.74 celsius each year. It can be happened by many factors such as a lot of factories in

Thailand that increase more, the carbon that emitted from the cars in the traffic, and also
from the things in daily life such as air condition which has some chemical that is the
disadvantage to the global and environment (Lallanila, 2016).

The Effects of the Greenhouse Effect

There are five main effects which caused by the Greenhouse effect. The first one
is the Greenhouse effect makes the Earths temperature increases around 0.8 percent per
year and that will make the ice in the north pole melts, the sea level rises, and a lot of dry
areas start to occur, then the agriculture places decrease but there are more deserts occur
at the same time as well. Second, the Greenhouse effect will make the temperature and
the seasons extremely change all over the world like the winter will be shorter and the
summer will be longer especially the countries in the tropical zone, like Thailand, will be
hotter and flood will happen more often (Ramanathan, 2009). Next, because of the
weather, seasons, and temperature that change a lot, it will make the agriculture becomes
worse and many products will be rotten and lacked. Fourth, many creatures on Earth will
disappear because of the temperature that is too high and it will destroy the animals
habitats. It includes some types of bacteria that also decrease. The last one is directly
affects to all people on Earth because the temperature that highly increases from the
Greenhouse effect will destroy humans skins and can cause some types of cancer.
Moreover, some diseases will be widespread because of the floods and also the diseases
from the animals such as mosquito as well (Sothern, 2015).

The Prevention of the Greenhouse Effect
To prevent the Greenhouse effect from harming the Earth, there are the most four
effective ways. First is called Reduce, Reuse, and recycle. Generally, the Carbon dioxide
which is one of the Greenhouse gasses can come from waste products. Thus, people need
to decrease the amount of carbon dioxide by reducing their waste products and garbage
like buying the products with small packages and recycle some of waste products or
garbage. Second is to turn off the electricity when they are not used. To reduce the
energy, it can be done by turning off the electricity because the large amount of the
energy is produced from the electricity. Therefore, to turn them off can save the energy
and reduce Carbon as well. For example, during the day, the natural light is bright enough
to use instead of using the electricity light. Third is drive less and wisely. The less you
drive, the more carbon dioxide gas that you can save. Moreover, it helps to save gases
and it is also the opportunity for exercising such as walking, biking, and running which
are the effective exercises for our bodies. Checking the car before using can also help to
save the carbon emission because some problems can increase the rate of the gas
emission. Finally, even hot water can help reducing around 350 pounds of carbon dioxide
each year. Approximately, the water at 120 celsius can save energy the most. For
example, some clothes can be washed by cold water to decrease the rate of using hot
water and reduce the energy that used to produce hot water as well. Using less hot water
can save about 500 pounds of carbon dioxide in each house (Cairoli, 2015).

Conclusion
The purpose of this research report was to describe the current situation of the
Greenhouse Effect in Thailand. Based on research articles, this research report concluded
that the current situation of the Greenhouse effect in Thailand still happens. It happens
because of the Greenhouse gases cover the atmosphere of the Earth and makes the
radiation from the Sun can pass through the Earths surface easily and makes the
temperature of the Earth increases. For the situation in Thailand, the greenhouse gases
continue to increase and makes the temperature in Thailand rises rapidly. Therefore, this
research report recommends further research on what is the future situation of the
Greenhouse effect in the next ten years.
