obesitas cenderung menjadi orang dewasa gemuk.
Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara Body Mass
Index dan tekanan darah pada mahasiswa yang mempunyai riwayat keluarga
hipertensi.
Metode: Dengan metode Cross Sectional, Body Mass Index dan tekanan darah
diperoleh daripada 100 orang mahasiswa ACMS. Penelitian in diperoleh dari 20
Oktober hingga 2 November 2010
Hasil: Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan 70 mahasiswa mempunyai berat badan
normal (70%), 6 orang merupakan underweight (6%), 16 orang overweight (16%)
dan seramai 8 orang mengalami obesitas (8%). Manakala dari 100 orang mahasiswa
84 orang mempunyai tekanan darah normal, 14 orang mengalami prehipertensi dan 2
orang mengalami hipertensi.
Kesimpulan: Ada hubungan antara Body Mass Index (BMI) pada tekanan darah pada
siswa yang memiliki riwayat keluarga hipertensi

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Obesity is an energy imbalance, with energy intake exceeding energy
expenditure, and is defined as body mass index (BMI) greater than 25. It is a major
cause of morbidity, death and high healthcare cost in worldwide. Obesity is also a
risk factor for hypertension, stroke, hepatobiliary disease (gallstones and
nonalcoholic steatohepatitis), osteoarthritis and sleep apnea. Obesity is increasing in
children and obese children tend to become obese adults.
Purpose: The reason for this research is to relationship between Body Mass Index
and blood pressure in ACMS students with family history of hypertension.
Methode: With cross
from 100 students ACMS. This research was obtained from 20 October to 2 November
2010.
Result: Results showed 70 students had normal weight (70%), 6 thin people (6%), 16
people are overweight (16%) and 8 people busy as obesity (8%). From 100 students,
84 people have normal blood pressure, 14 people have prehypertension and 2 had
hypertension.
Conclusion: There is a relationship between body mass index (BMI) on blood
pressure in students who have a family history of hypertension
