Parallel vs.

Series Circuits

Series circuits are called a current-coupled circuit because the circuit goes
through every component in the circuit. All of the components in a series connection
carry the same current and there is only one path in a series circuit in which the current
can flow. A series circuit's main disadvantage or advantage, depending on its intended
role in a product's overall design, is that because there is only one path in which its
current can flow, opening or breaking a series circuit at any point causes the entire
circuit to open or stop operating. For example, if even one of the light bulbs in an olderstyle string of Christmas tree lights burns out or is removed, the entire string becomes
inoperable until the bulb is replaced. A parallel circuit has more than one resistor,
anything that uses electricity to do work, and gets its name from having multiple parallel
paths to move along. Charges can move through any of several paths. If one of the
items in the circuit is broken then no charge will move through that path, but other paths
will continue to have charges flow through them. Parallel circuits are found in most
household electrical wiring. This is done so that lights don't stop working just because
you turned your TV off.

Progress Report
Date: March 22, 2014
Subject: Monthly Report: Project-Wiring Committee
Discussions:
In the whole duration of March, we were able to complete the following
1. On February 29, 2014 the building of the circuits was successful, we able to
control the flow of current in an area, around the municipality of Loon to
Maribojoc.
2. A problem with the speed of internet in the Municipality of Tubigon and Anda, it
was said that it was caused by an irregularity of the flow between wires, so two
teams were sent to fix the said problem.
3. On the Eastern part of the Bohol province, we have successfully, place all wires
underground and place Wi-Fi routers around the area at this moment.

Conclusion:
Even though the target date for the completion of this project is on December 25,
2014 we can finish putting all electric wires underground and placing Wi-Fi routers all
the municipalities in Bohol around June due the cooperation and the effort of the team.
