1.0 General Operation

The actuator control packages have been built to the specified control schematics.
Compressed air and or nitrogen must be supplied to the actuators for operation and
testing. Solenoids must also be powered for operation.
2.0 Actuator Testing
Materials:
1.
Nitrogen bottle and charging kit.

24VDC Power Supply
3.
Supply of compressed air

Mount the actuator to the valve and tighten all screws. Or if shop tested
without a valve, secure the actuator from tipping.

The actuator may be operated without gas supply by selecting remote control
from either the Close or the Open pump. Then cycle the pump to stroke the
actuator.
NOTE: When using either the Close or Open pump, position the valve to local
nearest the pump. Position the other valve to remote.

Connect a nitrogen gas supply to the customer connection point (HIGH

PRESSURE CONNECTION).
Connect a pneumatic supply to the customer connection point (LOW
PRESSURE CONNECTION).
Supply solenoids S-1 and S-2 with 24VDC supply
Reset valve 30 by pulling the round reset button. The red knob lever will
move toward the valve.
Set selector valve 15 to the remote position.
At this time the actuator may be opened or closed by moving either of the two
black manual levers on the gas block. Valve 31 to the gas storage tank must
be open for the fail operation.
The actuator will close when either:
a. High Pressure Supply is lost
b. Low Pressure Supply is lost
c. Solenoid power is lost from either S-1 or S-2.

1. Follow instructions 1 7 as per the above schematic
2. The actuator will open when either:
a. High Pressure Supply is lost
b. Low Pressure Supply is lost
c. Solenoid power is lost from either S-1 or S-2

Mount the actuator to the valve and tighten all screws. Or if shop tested
without a valve, secure the actuator from tipping.
Supply the customer connection with compressed air or nitrogen at the
pressure indicated on the schematic.
Close ball valve 9.
Operate the actuator by moving valve 4.
Open ball valve 9
Supply solenoids item 3 with 24VDC.
Reset the solenoids by pulling on the reset button. The red lever will move
toward the valve.
The actuator will open when both solenoid are powered and both are reset.
The actuator will close when electric power is lost to either solenoid.
