Chords
Major Chords
Chords are several notes or intervals played
together. There different types of chords
e.g. Major chords, Minors chords,
Augmented chords and Diminished chords.

The basic chord has three notes, also known

as a triad.
You can recognize a major chord when you
hear it because it sounds happy.
Let's take a look at the major chord starting
on C.
This is also called the C major chord.
The "C major chord" consists of three notes
C, E, G.
Play all the notes separately, then together.

Inversions
Chord Inversions
A chord has as many
possiblepositionsas it has notes.
Since our triad above has three
notes, there are three possible
positions: root position, first
inversion and second inversion.

Minor Chords
Minor Chords
Minor Chords sound sad
Here are 2 chords that we are
using in Uptown Funk played in the
root position. Try to play them
Now that you have played them in
the root position lets try to invert
the chords

Root Position= D F A
1st Inversion = F A D
2nd Inversion = A D F
