Tell me about yourself.

Im xxxxxxxx, 29 years old from mlang, cotabato. I started working as a butcher in 2008 when
the slaughterhouse in mlang was not yet accredited as a double A. a retired friend of mine
who worked as municipal meat inspector encouraged me to train and work as a butcher. Ive
been working for almost 6 years. Though the pay is barely minimum I still enjoy my job. To
compensate for the low wage I also started working in the farm during my off duty days to earn for my
family needs.

What were your responsibilities?


Im responsible for implementing humane handling of animals during hauling
from farm to the abattoir lairage/stockyard. Preparing the equipments for
slaughtering. Preparing and maintaining personal equipment for butchering.
Performing the hygienic slaughtering procedures for hogs and cattle.Head
cutting and weighing of carcass.Deboning, dehairing, trimming and weighing
of carcass.Delivering carcass to meat stall, meat shops and customers.
Cleaning of all equipments and the plant including disinfection.
What did you like about your job?
I enjoyed the people I worked with. It was a friendly and fun atmosphere and I actually
enjoyed going into work each evening. I felt the leadership team was great as well. They
knew all of their employees on a first name basis and tried to make those personal
connections.
What is your greatest strength?
My greatest strength is my ability to show initiative when required to work as an
individual, and as part of a team. I am willing to learn and open to different
and new ways of doing things. I can manage my time well and work with
minimum supervision.
What is your greatest weakness?
I used to be easily discouraged & I used to have a low self esteem. But my superior, co-butchers
and family began encouraging me to be more gutsy and to have more confidence in my self.
Why are you leaving or have left your job?
I feel that the time had come to seek out a new opportunity, to expand my skills and
knowledge, and to find a company with which i could grow and improve my self.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years?


I would like to see myself after 5 years as an experienced and skilled
employee for company. This will help me to do my best effort for the
companys growth and welfare. I want to see myself as someone who
contributed to the success of the company.

Are you willing to relocate?


Yes sir, depending upon the needs and requirements of the company, I
will not have any issue with the relocation. It would be my pleasure to
relocate myself because I will be able to get a lot of knowledge and lot
of experience from different cultures and different kinds of people,
which will be beneficial for me as well as for my company.

One of my greatest passions is helping others. When I was younger, I've enjoyed

helping mom with household repairs. As I grew older, that habit grew and I desired to help
others as well. I like helping people find solutions that meet their specific needs.

How do you handle stress and pressure?


I just take a deep breath. Take a moment to pray for a minute to ask wisdom from the
Lord. Then stay focused, calm and think of a solution. And stay positive that everything
will be ok because I know that God will never leave me.

Plenty of mistakes and problems but I simply sat down and fixed them. If all heck
broke loose I shouldn't have been doing the job.
