Warm Up:

1
To warm up, I will show the exercises so that students know
Minutes exactly what exercise they will be doing. I will have students
follow along with me practicing each move once.
Transition:
30
If you can hear me, clap 3 times.
Seconds Everyone count off by 6s (everyone will have one partner).
When I say go, 1s will go to this poster, 2s will go to this
poster, 3s will go to this poster, 4s will go to this poster, 5s
will go to this poster, and 6s will go to this poster (pointing to
each poster as I explain).

Since weve been sitting for such a long time, who wants to
Minutes get up and move a little? We have been working on addition
and subtraction problems. Today we will do a fun activity
involving these math problems that will get us up and moving!

Presentation of New Material/Directions:

None
1
At each poster, there will be a math story problem. After
Minutes each problem will be an exercise you need to complete based
on the word problem. In partner groups, you will walk from
each poster to the next, complete the problem and the
exercise. Groups will walk in clockwise rotation around the
classroom. I will let you know when to move to the next
station. Since we are in a classroom with tight space, there are
some safety precautions. When doing the exercises make sure

to be aware of the desks, chairs, or people around you. Make

sure you have plenty of space to do the activity.
Transition:
15
When you finish the last activity, please go back to your seat.
Seconds

Posters of the
story
problems.

Activity:
5
The activity will take place in the classroom. 6 posters (math
Minutes problems) will be posted around the classrooms. Each will
have a good amount of space in between each other. I will
have students move in partners in a clockwise rotation so that
students are not moving to the same poster or bumping into
each other.

Possible Modifications:
None
Have them multiple the end result by 2 to get the
number of times they must do each exercise. (increases
math level and amount of exercise)
Have two sets of numbers, an easier and harder set, to
give some students more or less of a challenge.
