28" June 2016 Dear Jeremy, Very regretfully, we have concluded that today’s vote on the motion of no confidence in your leadership confirms our fear that you are unable to unite the Parliamentary Labour Party. The vote demonstrates that the majority of PLP members do not believe that you can lead an effective campaign to win the next General Election, which is likely to occur in the near future. We fear that if you continue as our party leader then the country will face a much longer period of Tory rule that will betray the hopes of so many people who want and need a Labour Government. We believe you owe it to the country and to our party supporters to resign and allow a leadership election to take place for an alternative party leader to take us into the next election.
