SECTION V: Wait!!!! The Food Pyramid!!!!
We need more information about who might be the healthiest! Look at the food pyramid below and
check if you had the right amount of servings!! Then compare with your team again.

SECTION VI: Food Labels


OK, so you ate 6 servings of vegetables yesterday. But were they healthy servings? Did they
include sugar? Were they cooked in oil? Yesterday, I was hungry so I stopped at 7-11. I bought a
coke, some Pringles and a chocolate bar. Below are the nutrition labels for each food. Can you
decide which label matches each food? Which food is the least healthy? Why?

SECTION VII: NuVal
Nutrition labels are difficult to understand for most people. So a group of US
nutritionists, doctors and professors created a new scoring system to let shoppers see at
a glance if a food is healthy or not. The new nutrition scale is set from 1-100. With this
scale, the higher the number, the more nutritious the food is.

Look at page 1 again, and check your answers using the information below. Were you
correct with your answers?
