INSTALLATION CONCIDERATIONS:
Mount the antenna as far away as possible from other antennas or metal objects. To ensure optimum
high angle night time use and lower angle day time use, ensure that the antenna wires are angled not
less than 50 degrees from the vertical mast. (The flatter the angle the better) To extend the antenna
wires use non-rot, non-stretch rope e.g. Terylene. The HFX must be connected to the transmitter using
a 50 Ohm coaxial cable e.g. RG213 or RG58. No earthling is required, but if a metal mast is used this
should be earthed for safety purposes. No antenna tuner is required due to the antenna’s 50 Ohm
broadband characteristics. The coaxial cable should be taken directly to the 50 Ohm connector on the
transmitter. This antenna provides good VSWR from 1.5 to 40MHz on transmission but covers from
50KHz. to 180MHz. for receiving only.
