SKYPE-TROUBLESHOOTING

PLEASE REMEMBER:

ALL computers’ port numbers will be 528 ##

## must contain the numbers following the desk numbers with each
computers.
Examples:
a. For desk number 01 you must assign port number 52801

Step 1. For better voice quality we prefer RELAYS=0 for any skype
configuration. So please check the following options as shown in figure-1:

Note: Please check if the port number is correct (relative to the desk
number with prefix 528).All other options that are not selected, please don’t
select them.

Step 2. Make a test call (echo 123).Put your cursor on skype and you might
see the following as shown in figure-2.

Note: As you can see from the above Figure (red marked),

Relays: 4
UDP status local: Bad remote: Good

We recommend you to make some changes to your skype configuration for

better voice quality. So please follow the next steps.

Step 3: Please sign out from your skype connection and close all skype
application from your computer. Even from the notification area (The bottom
right most area of your desktop as shown in figure-3:

Step 5: Open command prompt and delete all files and directories except
Content, Pictures, shared.lck from the same location as shown below:

Example: From the above figure all files and directories are deleted except
Content, Pictures and shared.lck using the following commands:

For deleting files:

del <FILE NAME>

del shared.xml

For deleting directories:

rmdir /S <DIRECTORY NAME>

rmdir /S sabaprogeny
rmdir /S xuelbd

Step 6: Now open your skype and please don’t sign in until you change
some configurations. Go to Tools and click on Options to select the same as
shown below:

Note: Just give the actual port number and don’t select any other options
below it. Save this option and close your skype.

Step 7: Now with your user name and password login to skype. Go back to
Step-1, follow the instructions and check it out again if,

Relays: 0
UDP status local: Good remote: Good

If still there is no change, then just take some times and check relays status
randomly with few intervals. When you will find Relays: 0, UDP status local
and remote will become good automatically. So after this all your skype is
ready for better voice communication.
