Seattle’s International Academy of Design and
Technology raised money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma
Society at La Mode: An International Evening of Fashion
on August 24 at Renton’s Spirit of Washington Event
Center. (1) Monir Zandghoreishi, the academy’s fashion
design program chair, looked on as Ava Fernandes won
the evening, ballroom, and bridal category. The event was
hosted by (2) Nick Verreos and Andrae Gonzalo of Project
Runway (season two) fame. Throughout the evening a
roster of international groups provided entertainment,
including (3) the Sunshine Hmong Dancers and (4) the
Mshenga Drummers. (5) Models showed off the award-
winning costumes of Ginger Bellus and (6) Natasha
Gier’s fabulous florals. 1
