Cisco 6500

Cisco 6500 Series switch sets a new standard for IP communications and application delivery in
enterprise campus, service provider, and metro edge networks. The Cisco 6500 Series’ ability to
maximize user productivity and enhance operational control while providing unprecedented investment
protection. 2 Cisco 6500 are at the heart of DENR LANs with fully redundant connection it means it has a
fully available connection.

Cisco 7200

This Cisco 7200 Series router is the ideal WAN edge device for enterprises and service providers. Cisco
7200 acts as the core gateway to DENR corporate wide area network (WAN) and the Internet. It connects
using octal cable. DENR has 3 Cisco 7200 to connect to other branch of DENR. They use VPN to
communicate to other branches they use it for security reason so that only network that registered to VPN
can connect to DENR server farm.

The Cisco 2960 series switch is a Intelligent Ethernet Switches are a family of fixed configuration,
standalone devices that provide desktop Fast Ethernet and Gigabit-Ethernet connectivity, enabling
enhanced LAN services for entry-level enterprise, mid-market, and branch office networks. DENR use it
to connect the Cisco 7200 router to the core switch which is the Cisco 6500.

Cisco 6507 and Cisco 4507 switch offers non-blocking Layer2/3/4 switching with integrated resiliency,
further enhancing control of converged networks. Converged voice/video/data networks with high
availability enable business resiliency for ‘enterprise and metropolitan (metro) Ethernet customers
deploying Internet-based business applications. Cisco 6507 and Cisco 4507 use to connect server farm to
the core switch with fully redundant connection.

Using fiber optic cable connected to the core switch Cisco 6500 terminated using patch panel to distribute
connection in the whole building of DENR which they called it as vertical backbone. Each floor consist of
four switches connected fully redundant to the core switch and using copper cable to connected to
workstation which they called as horizontal backbone.
