Denver Police want the community to be aware of an incident involving


a police impersonator. Today at 12:30 p.m., the suspect approached a
man while he stood at the bus stop at Colfax Avenue and Corona
Street. The suspect told the victim he was under arrest and
handcuffed him behind his back. The suspect patted the victim down
and asked him where he lived. When the victim started questioning
the suspect as to whom he was, the suspect showed a badge on a
chain hanging around his neck for a second and told the victim he was
a police officer. When the victim began to protest, the suspect took
the handcuffs off the victim and walked away, last seen South bound in
the 1400 block of Corona St. He did not have a radio and no vehicle
was seen.

The suspect was described as a White male, in his 50’s, 5’8”, 170-
pounds, Short Gray Hair and Mustache, Wearing a Hawaiian Type Multi-
Color Shirt, Blue Jeans and had a Gray Bag on a Sling Over his
Shoulder.
