Bryan Adams biography


Bryan Adams is a Canadian rock singer and songwriter, musician and
photographer. He was born in Kingston, Ontario the 5th of November, 1959.
His father was a military diplomat, and his mother a teacher and a librarian.
Because of his father’s job the family travelled around Europe during his
childhood, but after his parents separated, his mother returned to Ottawa
with her two sons.

At the age of ten Bryan got his first guitar and he bought his first electric
guitar at 11. Afterwards, when he was 14 years old he moved to Vancouver
and he started auditioning as a guitarist and at 15 he left school to join a
band as a singer. In 1978, Bryan met the drummer Jim Vallance who got
impressed of his talent so they started writing songs together. They sent
various demos of Bryan singing their songs to different publishing
companies and in August, Bryan signed a recording contract with the
company Irving-Almo Music.

Since then, he has released 16 albums. Some of his best-known albums are
“Reckless”, “18 til I die”, and “waking up the neighbours”. Adams has been
nominated three times for Academy Awards for his songwriting in films and
he has sold a total of 65 million records.
