1. SUBJECT DESCRIPTION

• The syllabus in this semester will be related to physical


interaction of the building in relation to lighting.

• Emphasis of both natural and artificial lighting will be


placed on the response of the building and on the
environmental system together with the need to
consider their interactive nature.

2. OBJECTIVES

Upon completion, students are able to :

• Develop an awareness of the interaction between


the building and its environmental systems in the
creation of comfortable built environment.

• Develop an awareness of the principles behind and


constraints imposed by relevant building legislation.
