IMPLICATIONS OF THESE STATISTICS
 The implications of these statistics regarding the population growth of
Australia is enough to alarm demographers.
 More resources would have to be allocated to feed, house and employ the
growing population.
 Government expenditure will annually increase, and to support the
expenditure, taxes will have to be raised.
 The population is aging annually at a gradual rate, increasing the ratio of
retirees to workers.
 Australia is one of the most heavily urbanised countries in the Western world,
with some 90+% of the population living in the cities.
