Analytics Web Catalog
 The Web Catalog is a file (.webcat) that stores content
created with:
 Siebel Intelligence Dashboards
 Pages
 HTML
 Siebel Answers
 Requests
 Filters
 Siebel Delivers
 iBots
 Devices
 Profiles

Catalog Manager
 Administrators manage the Web Catalog using the Catalog
Manager
 Catalog Manager is Windows only
 Catalog Manager must be used in the offline mode only
 Administrators use the Catalog Manager for the following
functions:
 Rename
 Delete
 Move
 Copy
 Change Security Properties

Opening the Catalog Manager
 Open the Catalog Manager by selecting Start > Programs >
Siebel Analytics > Siebel Analytics Catalog Manager

The Web catalog is stored in


C:\SiebelAnalyticsData\Web\Catalog

Shared Folder
 Has content that is shared among Siebel Analytics Web users
 Includes the pre-configured:
 Dashboards
 Requests
 Includes shared filters

 Contains administrative elements of Siebel Analytics Web
 Some of these elements are distributed with the product
 Other elements are set up by the Siebel Analytics Web

 Analytics users have their own folder
 Content is stored in the appropriate subfolder based on type

 Groups (also known as Web Groups)
 Users
 Contains granularity for Analytics elements

Authenticated Users
 Users are automatically added to this group after the Analytics
Server authenticates them
 Sub-group of the Everyone group

Web Administrators Group


 Are users with Administrator privileges
 The default member is the Web Administrator configured during
installation
 Only members of this group have access to the Admin view

Web Administrators Group Continued


 Can perform these security tasks:
 Grant rights to users through groups, by explicit configuration, or
by a combination of the two
 Design the environment based on the users’ wants and needs,
and the organization’s security policies
 Regulate security for each user or group of users
 Set privileges to restrict access to any piece of information,
regardless of grain
 Filter data so that users see only the data rows that relate to their
role in the organization
 Set up multiple business models as multiple data sources to the
users

Non-System Groups
 Are groups created by the Siebel Analytics Web Administrator
 Contain permissions and privileges that are:
 Explicitly granted
 Inherited from another group
 Pre-configured, non-system groups are included for
organizations that have Siebel Analytics applications

Permissions and Privileges
 Can be granted to users or Web groups
 Five levels:
 No Access
 Traverse Folder
 Read
 Change/Delete
 Full

 Are assigned in the Catalog Manager
 Select Edit > Permissions

Web Group Inheritance Rules
 Explicitly denying access takes precedence over any other
permissions or privileges
 If a user or Web Group is a member of another Web Group with
different permissions and privileges, the least restrictive level of
authority will be granted
 Example: One group allows Read access and the other allows
Change access, the least restrictive access is Change
