THE DISAPOINTING EXPERIENCE

We were on a hill for a picnic. Everyone felt thirsty. Ferry and Trio, who were allotted the job
of preparing tea for the party, left us to go to make a fire and boil some water.
They had one a long time and did not return. Everyone was impatient. We wondered what was
keeping them. We also feared that they right meet with an accident. So we went in search for them, and
found them looking glum and cheerless.
“We have forgotten the matches,” Exclaimed Trio. “We cannot start a fire to boil water unless
someone goes down to the village to get a box of matches.”
It was a quite distance from the hill to the village. No one would willingly take the trouble to go
down and climb up the hill again. We had to suffer from our thirst. And that dampened the joy of the
party. But no one blamed the negligence of Ferry and Trio.
