COMPANY CASE ANALYSIS

This is a team project. Your team is required to do a comprehensive company analysis


and make formal class presentations on the company of your choice. This project
requires a complete strategic analysis of the company and should draw upon the entire
sets of readings and discussions. Secondary information beyond the company report
and industry analysis should be gathered.

Format and guidelines:

1. Describe the firm’s background and history


2. Provide an overview of the firm’s management.
3. Describe the firm’s product/services
4. Provide current news and developments about the firm.
5. Identify firm’s vision and mission statements. Suggest an alternative vision and
mission statements.
6. Identify the firm’s external opportunities and threats (external audit). Construct
and External Factor Evaluation (EFE) Matrix.
7. Construct a Competitive Profile Matrix (CPM)
8. Identify the firm’s internal strengths and weaknesses (internal audit). Construct
an Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE) Matrix.
9. Provide SWOT matrix
10. Recommend specific strategies and long-term objectives
11. Identify the issues currently facing the firm.
12. Provide suggestions and recommendations to address the issues.

The above is only a guideline to help you in preparing the strategic plan of the
company. You may provide other information that you think is relevant to your
discussion.

Expectation for the project:


1. Each group must select a different firm and the lecturer must approve the topic.
2. Each paper will be 20 pages in length excluding tables, title page and references.
3. Write clearly in an organized manner. Use headings and subheadings to
organize the paper.
4. Do not plagiarize the work of others.
5. Provide adequate citations of your sources.
6. Your team is given 20 minutes to present a summary of your project in front of
the class. An additional 10 minutes will be allocated for Question & Answer
session.
7. All work submitted will be graded on content, originality and language.

Read the Strategic Management Case Analysis (Part 5) in your textbook to guide
you in preparing this assignment.
