The first step for installing windows XP

• Make sure that:

• New “Windows XP” CD is inserted in the
CDROM.
• The First Boot Device in Setup BIOS is set
to the CDROM.

 Start Installing Windows XP

• Press any key to boot from CD. Within 4

seconds.

 Automatic files loading

• After pressing any key the system automatically

loads necessary files for installing the windows

 Asking for (Press Enter)

• Confirm the installation of Windows XP by

pressing “Enter”.

 Windows XP License Agreement

• Press “F8” for accepting the terms and

conditions for using Microsoft Windows XP.

Partition to install the windows XP?

• Use the arrow key to select the hard disc partition in

which you want to install the WinXP.
• And then “Press Enter”.

 Do you want to format that
Partition?

• Format the partition using the FAT files system (Quick).

• Press Enter 7
 Confirm the format (Press “F”)

• To format the drive, press F

• After completing the format, the setup will copy new
installation files. 8
 Copying the windows XP
installation files to selected drive.

• And then the system automatically Restarts

After restart the setup continues

• After restating the computer the setup will continue to

copy files and make necessary configurations.

Regional and language options

• On 33 minutes remaining, setup will ask

for pressing “Enter”. 11
 To whom this software copy belongs?

• Type your name and your organizations name (if any).

• And press Enter

 Enter your product key

• Enter here the 25 digits, product key.

• Press Enter to continue.. 13
 Give a password to your account

• Give a password to your windows XP if you

want.
• And press Enter 14
 Configure the Date & Time.

• Configure the date & time and time zone.

• Press next or Enter

 Setup continues

• Wait for sometime when system.

• When system automatically configures the network.

 Network setup

• Press enter on both screens.

• OR press “Next” with mouse.

 Completing installation

• After sometime the setup completes and

the system will automatically restart. 18
 Then the system restarts again.

• Four screens after the system has started for the19

first time.
 Who will use this computer?

• Give the one name which you had given before and
press next.

Congratulations the windows XP is
now installed.
