Connecting Tachometer
NOTE: Never let the tachometer lead touch ground as this could cause
damage to the igniter and/or coil. Be sure to check that your
tachometer is compatible with this ignition system. Consult the
operating manual for your instrument.

3. Using a jumper wire, connect the T and E1 terminals of the check connector.
4. Check the idle speed. Idle Speed: M/T: 750 ±50 rpm A/T: 800 ±50 rpm
NOTE: Check the idle speed and the ignition timing with the electric cooling fan
OFF and the transmission in Neutral.
5. Using a timing light, check the ignition timing and compare with specification.
6. If necessary, loosen the distributor hold down bolt and turn the distributor to
align the marks. When finished adjusting, torque distributor hold down bolt to
13 ft.lbs (17 Nm).
