CUPERTINO
– Meg Whitman today announced the endorsement of the California Narcotic Officers'
Association (CNOA). CNOA is one of California's premier public safety organizations, representing
7,000 officers at the federal, state and local level who lead California's war on drugs.

"The use and trafficking of illegal narcotics threaten communities and destroy lives, and the
members of the California Narcotic Officers' Association put their lives on the line to keep our
neighborhoods and families safe," said Meg Whitman. "I'm honored to have their endorsement and
will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with CNOA to crack down on offenders, enact aggressive prevention
measures and ensure that innocent Californians are protected. Unlike Jerry Brown, I will be a
tough-on-crime governor."

Robert Hernandez, President of CNOA stated, "Meg Whitman has a specific plan to fight crime and
keep our communities safe. She will protect California's Three Strikes and You're Out Law, defend
the death penalty and reject early release schemes that put neighborhoods at risk. Of particular
importance to narcotic officers, Meg stands with us in united and unequivocal opposition to the
legalization of marijuana. She understands what it means to wear a badge and respects those who
put their lives at risk to protect California."

CNOA is the fourth major public safety group to back Meg Whitman. These groups represent nearly
30,000 California law enforcement professionals, many working on the front lines in our largest
cities.
