MODESTO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ENDORSES MEG WHITMAN
CUPERTINO
– Meg Whitman today announced the endorsement of the Modesto Chamber of
Commerce. The Modesto Chamber of Commerce represents over 1,100 businesses that employ
more than 40,000 workers in the Central Valley.
"I am thankful to have the support of the Modesto Chamber of Commerce, whose members
appreciate that I have a plan to create jobs in the Central Valley, stand up to the status quo in
Sacramento and deliver results," said Whitman. "I look forward to working together to help our
state get back on track and put Californians back to work."
"Following Meg Whitman's visit to the Chamber in March, we knew without a doubt that she is the
woman for the job," said Modesto Chamber of Commerce President and Chief Executive Officer Joy
Madison. "Meg has the attitude, toughness and skill to motivate others to be successful. She has
demonstrated a commitment to understand our challenges and she is the only candidate offering
specifics on how she will create jobs and address the water crisis."
Since the beginning of her campaign, Whitman has been to the Central Valley more than 30 times
and seen firsthand the complex economic and water issues facing the region.
The Modesto Chamber of Commerce joins a growing list of prominent business associations,
representing tens of thousands of employers, which have endorsed Meg and support her vision for
fixing California. They include the California Chamber of Commerce, Western Growers Association,
California Farm Bureau, Nisei Farmers League and California Citrus Mutual, among others.
