JOINTS

 Joint is an area of the bone where two bonws meet.


 Most joints are movable.
 Joints is consist of the following:
o Cartilage- a type of tissue that covers the surface of the bone at a joint. It helps reduce
the friction of movements between the joint.
o Symovial membrane- it lines the joint and seasls it intoa joint capsule it also secretes
sinovial fluid that lunricates it.
o Ligaments- it is a tough. Elastic bond of connective tissue that surrounds the joints and
limits the joint movements.
o Tendons- also a tough connective tissue on each side of the joint that is attached to the
muscle that controls the movement of joints.
o Bursas- a fluid-filled sacs located between bones, ligaments or other adjacent structures
that helps cushoin the friction in the joints.
o Synovial fluid- a clear, sticky fluid that is secreted by the synovial membrane.
 Femur-the thigh bone
 Tibia- the shin bone
 Patella- the knee-cap
 Meniscus- a curve part of the cartilage in the knees and other joints.
